The question got asked on Asobo’s latest live developer stream, and Jorg confirmed that they know a 2D weather map is not sufficient and have plans to address this. You can see it here:

For anyone who doesn’t have time to watch the video, though, here’s what Jorg said as a tangent from another question relating to Metoblue’s snow data:

“People want access to the weather via the API, different data than the 2D map we’re currently giving. That’s something we need to chat with [Meteoblue] about, but we have some… we have all kinds of things. We have a few future features we’re going to discuss with them as well. So we’ll… we’ll get back to you early next year with the answers on this.”
