I’ve been installing software since 1985 and have never come across this problem : the installer downloads the 1.20.60 Store packages but then doesn’t see them in the folder. For example I just downloaded for the 18th time (no kidding !) . There is currently 95 Gb in the Store package directory but the installer says it still needs 67 Gb. It’s seeing the proper directory just not the files themselves.
I have an I7-8700 / 32 Gb / RTX 2060 and am installing on an SSD. Running Win10 in Admin mode, AV off, TCP/IP v6 off and d/l speed screwed down to 10 Mbps.
I’ve tried reinstalling, deleting the game local cache, deleting the store cache, deleted last package downloaded, chkdsk and re-pathed in the installer. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thank you all kindly. I’ve tried everything on Zendesk and submitted a ticket w nada response.
Thank you very kindly for the reply. Appreciate you.
Tried the “Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed” tool but it didnt find MSFS and didn’t provide a search to find it.
Followed a MS link to " Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store " … nada
Ran the register cmds in terminal as Admin and didn’t help either.
Don’t have and have never had this problem of seeing the directory but not the files in any other app install. Figure it’s some MS under the hood issue but no idea what. Again - appreciate you !
You not alone in this mess. This is the worst game updater/ install system I have ever experienced, I dread updates for this game. which ends up into a 2 day install for me with my ■■■■ internet I have in Australia.
Hi, noticed when googling my issue that there have been and still are many install / update issues out there. What’s surprising is the nature of the problem - seeing the directory but not the files. Hard to believe no one else has had that specific problem …
Thanks but it’s one program not seeing the files it installs. Install apps all the time w/o issue. Ran chkdsk / fix . Appreciate the input but a single isolated incident really doesn’t indicate an issue warranting a format. A formatting issue would manifest itself w a lot of different pc-wide issues. Thanks again for the thought !
