January 30, 2025 Development Update Blog Discussion

I was waiting for the transfer of my Premium Deluxe content from MSFS2020 for quite a long time - I did not receive my carry-over content upon first login - and even addressed to Support Team, and later at the day Asobo issued their Beta my MSFS2020 content appeared in 2024 (I did not join the beta that time yet). And a bit more later, with an update to Beta I received some msgs about those free upgrades. Now I am waiting for the Market Place.

It’s funny but many, including myself from time to time when rattles get thrown from prams, have said the exact opposite. It was never made for PS5 Pro, but PC, and XBox, sure.

Porting the sim to other non-MS platforms may never originally have been envisioned.

I have found that on my rig it never comes up when a press the bound button or key but it does appear if I press it and then drag the mouse cursor over the general area it’s supposed to appear at. That has been working for me 100% of the time after the first hot fix update.

And sit there staring at the camera and say they never heard of the issue.

Soooooo
 it doesnt work

I honestly believe the answer is “there is no plan, and our management of 2024 has been such a disaster that we don’t have capacity to develop one either.”

That can’t really be spun in any positive direction, so ignoring the question is the best strategy.

And I would be happy to be wrong - Microsoft, just let us know what the plan is, and I’ll happily concede!

If the updating process were as simple as they seemed to suggest pre-launch, then you would think they would have been done by now. And yet here we are.

I’m looking forward to the livestream tomorrow, BUT I am not very hopeful of anything meaningful coming out of it.

I suppose the reason is that the real home truths will never be aired due to the impact on PR. If any of the Asobo crew - who are likely as frustrated as many of us - gave their honest opinions about the state of affairs, they would likely be out of a job the next day. I’m sure the upper management at MS has steered this surprisingly-successful ship in new directions in the pursuit of growth, players and ultimately more income, but look at the havoc it has wrought. Of course, nobody can call that out officially or even speak ill about the powers that be.

It’ll be the same old roadshow of publicity and promises to look into things. Some of the regression bugs in 2020 were not yet fixed despite being brought up in 3 or 4 Q&A sessions, so my hope has almost run out now.

I expect to stay with 2020 for at least six months, probably nearer a year. It’ll be that long before it’s in a state that my few third party add-ons work properly and all the ‘silly’ bugs have been worked out.

That’s putting it lightly

Was anything mentioned about MSFS2020? I have stoped watching those streams?

I don’t know? Have you?
