It’s working for me now, also.

I’m getting the same

Interesting… it’s not working for me. I’m leaving my joke up. I’m here all day folks!

While I certainly don’t feel MSFS 2024 was in any state for a full release, the number of you that are complaining about CTD’s when I haven’t had a one, makes me wonder if you aren’t on platforms that are pushed to the limit in overclocking, voltages, etc. The sim is slowly getting better especially in VR. I flew a flight last night, took off at Vegas, went over the strip in a 172, smooth, crisp graphics (even the panel). There were loads of planes moving around the airport, taking off and landing. Flew past Hoover Dam and all the way down the Colorado to Lake Havasu. Was absolutely beautiful. Now I can’t give all the credit to MSFS because I made some other changes prior and have Cloudfare Warp running as well so perhaps they were behind much of the improvement.

I’m one of the few who’s actually had a good smooth experience with the sim. Here’s hoping that the marketplace opening also brings unencryption of aircraft.

I’d also really like to see the shared fltpln efb thing sorted so waypoints also transfer instead of just departure/arrival but that’s been my biggest bug so far.

In Dilbert, Les wanted a “pre-meeting” before having the already useless regular meeting. Pointy haired boss agreed. Dilbert buries head in hands

I just wish we didn’t have to wait yet another week to get details on things. Dec 19th to Jan 16th+ is a long time.

It’s the same as the launch of 2020. Not everyone saw the same issues but many were also caused by the PC not the software.

Don’t forget that there’s been a long holiday period between those dates.

If it doesn’t for some reason, I’m out.

I still feel strongly that a lot of the issues the base aircraft have come down to being forced to stream their data. I have no proof of this, obviously. It’s just a gut feeling.

I am a subhuman casual, on a plebian xbox, but I was unable to complete a Charter mission last night. Four attempts, and all ended with a black screen CTD on mission loading, or an Unexpected Error crash after hours of flying.

We still have at least 3 years before this is a viable sim. History dictates exactly what is and WILL happen. Just gonna chill for a few years.

I’m honestly surprised about how long we’re living with these bugs which are totally unattended.

  • EFB bugs relating aircraft loading are there since day one.
  • Almost all aircraft have some kind of bug.
  • Loading of textures is tossing a coin every time, sometimes they load, sometimes they don’t.
  • 10 seconds to load an aicraft in configuration.
  • Flight plan “Send to avionics” from EFB does not for work for more than half of the planes.
  • Developers have updated their aircraft to work in 2024 but Marketplace doesn’t show anything new (PE Maule for example, which was updated mid december).
  • Callsign still doesn’t work.
  • AI assistance for comms is way worse than in 2020.
  • The bug about assistances is still there, you can’t have for example taxi way path but not flight path, it’s all or nothing.
  • Half of the sim (missions) is unavailable unless you can dedicate the time for career, which we grown up adults with not home office jobs do not have.
  • The G1000 bugs relating nav and comm frequencies is still there.

And more I’m forgetting.

Almost 60 days have passed and not a single one of those bugs has been solved. Looks like this was a complete waste of money unfortunately.

I get people are impatient, and want to make suggestions that will help move things along. Keeping the marketplace closed until all bugs are resolved is NOT the answer though. People think “Oh, that will hurt Microsoft, thus make them work harder”. It will also hurt every single third party developer who sells on the Marketplace. It will also freeze their ability to actually SELL 2024 addons, and thus financial pressure will force them to stop developing for 2024.

Basically, putting an indefinite hold on the Marketplace for 6 months to a year will just basically kill of the sim completely. If all developers pull out, the users will too, and then the sim will have no choice but to shut down.

There has to be a more balanced approach. Also, once the Marketplace is fixed, it shouldn’t be using developer resources. The store is like a black box. Updates to the flight model won’t effect the store at all. World Updates mainly fall on first party developer teams and the Microsoft data team (who aren’t developers so they would not be fixing bugs). So keeping the Marketplace shut down for 6 months to a year is just being punitive. It won’t help direct resources into fixing bugs.

You obviously haven’t been reading the poll thread post release of 2024. Definitely not a minority. With regards to “fixed” I would be happy if 2024 preformed like 2020, but with the improvements that were advertised.

I agree. I don’t think its is fair and equitable for one or two moderators to decide on which questions are asked. Let everyone decide - why not?

One sim purchase = one vote.

I don’t think being a forum member means they have the sim purchased.

MS has the resources to link Store/Sim purchases to the XBox IDs used in the sim (which means a purchase) and their specific forum account.
So, if it wanted to, MS can filter out forum members who didn’t buy the sim.

Regardless of that, all forum members deciding involves a significant number of paid users, which is more democratic than a handful of moderators.
