January 9, 2025 Development Update Blog Discussion

Seriously? None of these have been addressed. If loading an aircraft or being able to correctly set nav/com frequencies isn’t part of the core of a flight sim, I don’t know what the core is. Flight dynamics? That also has issues. Airplanes? All have some kind of bug. I really don’t know what do you mean.

LMFO,

For seed to Avionic is not a bug, is only some aicraft from Carenado is not compatible because use the 2020 WT Title Avionic Framework. For use EFB Send to Avionic need use WT Avionic Framework 2.0 version.

All Inibuild aircraft is same case, because is dont use WT Title Avionic Framework (already the case in MSFS 2020 with A310 and A32Nv2 is not compatible with Default Flight Planer)

Callsign, is a small issue …

3th Party Addon update, need Marketplace so

Also Mission is not CORE Sim …

Have already have a BIG Update last month.

The Kwik Flight B-1B crashes the sim on XboxseriesX.
Thank you for your hard work @asobo

Do you actually think everyone is exaggerating the problems with FS2024 or that you are just one of the few lucky ones not perceiving serious bugs as problematic?

The marketplace the way it has been set up is a requirement for us being able to download all our content (again) as all FS2020 content is encrypted/DRM’d so doesn’t carry over via a manual copy. The only option right now is to stream which is leading to lots of issues like landing at blurry airports, so we REALLY need the MP enabled so we can (re)download what we don’t want to stream. It’s not all about buying stuff, but I do agree with your take on that.

I apologize for making it sound like that was the sole reason. That wasn’t my intention. Since the poster I was replying to wanted the Marketplace to stay shutdown indefinitely until all bugs have been resolved, I assumed they didn’t have any content in the Marketplace at all. So I chose the sales issue as the most compelling reasoning against the action for this particular poster.

When I estimate SU1 to be delivered at end of February people say I’m over-optimistic.

My priority list suggestions for Asobo:

  1. Fix & improve all the bugged and broken planes that are currently available.
This is the no. 1 issue of this game.

  2. Open the marketplace
Some of you would maybe disagree but this is a mandatory feature for people to manage and use their content and buy specific assets or upgrade to a higher tier. All of this is a key feature and selling point of the game and it’s just missing.

  3. Career mode
Currently a complete disaster that can only be descibed as a sketch or mockup for what could one day become a career mode. Close it, finish it properly, re-open it.

  4. Optimize world streaming and GPU/CPU/RAM utilization

  5. Release content updates

and the start of March is only 7 short weeks away. :exploding_head:

says it’s not a bug. proceeds to describe bug.

Not a bug (i.e a problem in the sims code that you, I or any 3rd party can’t fix) but a problem that in this case Carenado could fix.

The latest 1.2.11.0 is definitely managing VRAM correctly.

Running a 1080TI with 11GB VRAM, 32GB system RAM - Windows shares 16GB RAM with the GPU. Dell 3.3GHz Xeon.

Start with A400 at KLAX runway. End flight, keep sim running and start with Cessna at my local small UK airport (EGBJ); VRAM reduced by around 1GB (5 to 4 approx, which is 25%).

The A400 has a detailed cockpit. Switching to outside view reduced VRAM and visa-versa.

Esc, Q for Free CAM. Gain height pan around to downtown then sparsely inhabited areas and VRAM reduced, as expected.

Heading to the ocean VRAM dropped, as expected.

There seems to be integration (smoothing) over 5 seconds when freeing memory.

So VRAM is being managed sensibly with view complexity.

I’m a retired C++ developer and impressed by the improvements.

Hi I’de just like to say the simulator has such potential, I am new to flight sim 2024 and I think it’s amazing and totally additive.
I have started this game from scratch I was on the xbox gamepass and the game was so bad I went and brought a gaming pc to play it on.
and yes the graphics are great, the detail is perfect. “BUT”

I know that there is lot of programing that goes into this game & expect bugs needing to be fixed just like any new game (black ops 6) e.t.c

Instead of releasing more aircraft & new content, why not fix the problems that you have instead. Tell us what your plan is to update the bugfixes you are trying to Fix.

I hope you try to fix the very first part of the game (Career Mode) as this is the first part of Flight sim that people see, plus it’s not a good look for your planes to crash short of the runway for no reason,
Concentrate on the bugs first and leave new content till later in the year.

Thanks Very Eager for new updates

Well I’ve got an rx7600xt and it works great, I let the game select the graphics cards detail, We are all waiting for bugfixes. WE are all in the same boat and I’m sure it will get better. :grinning:

With this statement I suppose you either

  • do not really need the core features to work correctly for your way of flying, or
  • do not know what the core features are in a sim.

Either way, the important thing is that you think it works fine for you :+1:

I mean, this sim allows for all kinds of use so I can imagine that someone who spawns on the runway with engines running, firewalls the throttle(s), flies mainly from the outside view and just enjoys the visuals is probably not much concerned about all the bugs (core or aircraft related) reported by the community.

And that is fine.

Then there are all the others who also care about avionics, systems, performance, procedures, navigation etc. who probably would not use core sim and OK in one sentence.

Not sure if I missed it, but will there be a betta program?

We are all in it already, or is this sim currently in alpha?

On the contrary, I’m on Xbox Series X and I’ve had at least 3 CTD’s while configuring my controller settings.

And another beginning the takeoff roll in the 737 Max.

I’ve had 3 or 4 others but don’t recall exactly when.

In terms of fixes they are doing the bare minimum.

This is the time to actually start fixing the mess they created with launching something that is months away from beaing in a launch state.

I doubt we’ll get the game to the state it should have been at release anytime in the near future. My bet would be summer 2026
