Looks very impressive…regretfully has hit my frame rate…will have to do setting changes me thinks. Looking forward to some of the 3rd party devs “building” some “system aircraft”…but must admit, with live weather turned on the weather turbulence appears to have been improved markedly…well flying over Tokyo at least.

wait a little longer. you’ll start having bugs.

On my way to Tokyo. Scenery is very impressive from 3000’. Lots of turbulence over the mountains and hills. Frame rate decent ~15 FPS Ultra 4K. Autopilot is a lot more solid than before.

It would be very nice if the whole world had this scenery detail!

I wish I could enjoy it, but I am unable to download the update. When I go to the store the the download button is greyed out.

Agree!. I thoroughly enjoyed flying the new Japan sightseeing tour. All 2.5 hours of it! The King Air wouldn’t have been my first choice, but now I’m glad I got to spend a little time in the default King Air. It did a fine job.

I had no idea Japan had so many amazingingly designed bridges and buildings. Some of those many golf courses also looked enticing. I want to go visit Japan irl now. I used the Navigraph World Chart to identify POI’s and follow along learning some of the details of this fine country.

Japan is an amazing place! Probably the best vacation I have ever been on. Friendly people, stunning scenery, amazing culture, delicious food, and a model of efficiency. And some of it just plain crazy. I’m enjoying seeing it virtually from 3000’!

Impressive indeed. I was amazed. Better then before where the houses and buildings looks more like a slum and crappy.

Too bad man, maybe try to tweak you graphics settings here and there and hopefully it will give you back a few FPS. Good luck man  :+1:t2:

So far so good. Maybe you can explain a bit what type of bugs you encounter?

I’ve been to Japan. Visited Osaka, Tokyo and Sapporo in 2017 to 2019. What a lovely country and very polite people. To fly in the sims over this new updated map was truly amazing.

Good job again Asobo and Microsoft, I just hope that it doesn’t stop here.

I’m hoping they will update the rest of the world so when can actually take a virtual vacation since this Covid-19 pandemic currently happening it literally stop people from going oversea and having a vacation  :+1:t2:

Had a great flight around Tokyo last night, thunderstorms and lightning! Download was faultless, and no bugs.

I just got home from work, I’m taking the tour now, looks great at 3000’. It’s pretty windy.
No bug encounters yet. Had to restart my pc to install the update because moving my mouse was freezing the program for some reason. No issues after restart though. I haven’t had a single crash/ctd with over 100 hours in. I’m one of the lucky ones I guess.
Performance seems to be the same, I’ve had a few skips and frame drops, I’m thinking it’s because there’s a lot of other planes in the area that affects my performance but I mostly maintain around 50fps at 1080p, everything on high, clouds ultra depth of field off with a gtx 1070 and i5 6600k @4.4.

Absolutely, the new scenery is jaw dropping, this update has unfortunately introduced some serious bugs for people although seems I have personally been lucky, did the whole Japan tour without an issue. Can’t wait to see what’s next for the world updates!

Absolutely… a work of art. I don’t understand what issues all of the people are having. Then you have a group that thinks it’s superb. Like me! My frame rate has improved and the graphics are spectacular. I think it has to do with individual hardware, drivers and configuration. I just hope that the developers realize there are those of us who appreciate their work.

I just had a trouble-free update procedure - I struggle to understand why so many here seem to run into such catastrophic experiences with these patches. I have never experienced any of this - from day one (release day). You just have to follow the procedure; be patient, and it really helps to keep MSFS 2020 'vanilla’ (do not fill it up with modded files! This cannot be overstated!).

Congrats and thanks to Team Asobo and their associates for another significant patch. I really do hope they keep this schedule of regular updates going for some time to come.

This has been my experience too and I have been using MOD’s, could not resist the “Working Title CJ4 MOD” as I have really enjoyed flying that and the MOD has added so much more immersion. I am very careful to remove MOD’s before any upgrade and replace them one at time after the upgrade patch has completed, testing each one as I go. A bit of a pain but my choice!!

I do also feel for the people who are having these issues and can only sympathise with the Dev team, as such varying experiences must be an absolute nightmare when searching for a root cause.

Keep at it Asobo and team . I am sure this will come good soon, so much potential here.

Great job they’ve done with that scenery update, no doubt and very much appreciated!
But if you look really closely and compare to videos how the whole sim looked gorgeous before this so called “performance optimizations”, you’ll know why you get better fps now! Shadows, reflections, water, autogen buildings, draw distance, all that got a huge downgrade. No wonder the sim’s running better.
Just set time of day to nighttime and see if you can detect any reflections from building lights on the water, as it was before. I bet you’ll see what I mean.

I overstressed the King Air trying to se that Shrine! Came high over the mountains and did a too rapid descent. Ooops

Enable dev mode for exploring new areas. You can disable it later if you wish to enjoy more realistic flights.
