Jorg talks on the Xbox Games Showcase about the Xbox version

If anyone was interested in hear more about the Xbox, Jorg talks a bit about it here. There’s a fair amount of information that hasn’t been mentioned anywhere else in there so far including;

  • Revamped AI copilot
  • New tutorials
  • Some Xbox gameplay footage
  • And this:

Here’s a link to the YT live video (should be timestamped): https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/L7ZCGAUSCAU

Also 2 new world updates this year and 6 more next year. Predictable, but worth mentioning

He pretty much confirmed the implementation of afterburners and supersonic flight.

Some great bits in here (hopefully all coming to PC as well)

-City and town names will show on the world map
-Tutorials expanding from 8 to 22, will be more streamlined and give you scores and feedback on how you did
-Discovery tour mode for sightseeing

More accessibility options, you can click on a POI or airport in mid flight and have the game land for you.

Also a “Land anywhere” feature that lets you add floaters and skis (!) to more planes

I think this is the most important

Having cities added to maps is nice. But international and state / provincial / regional borders would be extremely helpful as well.

They may want to avoid it due to the disputed areas though (ex: Crimea).

Pretty much! I wonder what was being referred to as ‘the danger zone’ though? Unless the same thing? Don’t know much about military/supersonic flight.

perhaps some low and fast canyon flying “bush trip”

Yeah I also saw the footage. Are you sure though it is videos captured from an Xbox? Im not so sure about it, since it feels ike they would have told it during the footage?

It looks superb. Here is the video featuring just the flight sim segment:

Top gun reference

So auto trim and non stall as new options to make MSFS easier?

Oh. :woman_facepalming: It’s been a while! Haha

If you watch the presentation you can see that looks like part of the options they added for the AI copilot. So you can choose what level of interaction you want whilst it’s controlling the plane.

So I can for instance control the plane myself (AI control aircraft = off) but set the AI to prevent stall or to auto trim?

He didn’t mention it explicitly I believe, but you can see the option in the menu, so yes.

Can I ask what gives you impression will be added? Other than if done work will be easy enough to integrate to the native PC version.

I personally agree if we don’t see the map updates, landing features, including skies and the AI auto navigation and the new tutorials/training flights I’d be amazed but there was no mention anywhere I can find, nor any replies online to the question saying will be so just wondered if missed anything as if have would love to see.

Otherwise thanks for the great break down, much appreciated as was a lot to take in at time, especially with excitement for these features. The map update is something I have wanted since launch and being disabled any accessibility features are an instant bonus so fingers crossed!

Why would there be? The reveal of said features was just this afternoon in that stream.

There’s no reason to think these features won’t be for both platforms. Both platforms will be identical, this is something they have said all along.

Well they often do blog’s when mention things so wondered if missed that or if they had even said or it was written somewhere in the stream will be on PC too tha missed but yeah I know was only a few hours ago as watched it…

I just wondered as know sometimes when released games across platform they have features only for that platform and often it’s mentioned if will come to both but the whole conversation was very much all about Xbox edition.

As said, I agree will most likely be added, just was checking haven’t missed anything

Sorry, I thought I heard him mention that in the stream but rewatching it you’re right it’s not explicitly stated (I have edited my post)

That said, like others pointed out given the work has already been put in on these features and the backlash there’d be if they didn’t make it to the PC version (which lets face it, is where their money is) I’d be shocked if it’s not there

So it’s more we have no reason to believe they aren’t also coming to the PC version IMO

Hopefully it gets cleared up soon!
