Jps logistics cessna 152 - how to get this plane

Despite the popularity it seems to be impossible to get now. Every link I’ve found is a dead end and nothing comes up on Discord.

I do fly it quite frequently as I love the simplicity. When I’m checking my scenery development work the default 152 is my go to airplane without putting much thought into it.

It used to be rather common in flight schools but no longer seems to be. In the sim the 172 feels quite a bit more complex and bulky in comparison.

Just checked and the download link seems to work fine.

Thanks! That time it finally worked. All the links prior and Discord searches had been coming up not found.

Quite a nice airplane. There is definitely room for this alongside the default 152 as this is one is a bit more modernized. I’d happily pay $20 for it. It just needs working windows and visors.

I completely missed the conversion from JPL to WB-SIM. I still had the JPL version running (which was still working fine for me).

Does the WB-SIM version still require the separate GTN-750 compatibility mod, or is WTT GTN-750 support built in? (I’m assuming of course I still need the GTN-750 itself in my community folder, but there used to be the separate compatibility mod).

Does this 152 have an autopilot option? Even if it’s only through the GTN750.

Yes. The GTN can be used to follow GPS routes and / or VOR. There are also other options that are more steam-gauge VOR navigation, or simple heading mode, too.

These are options in the cockpit tablet included with the device. You of course need to download and install the GTN from the PMS website for that option to work.

Thanks!

The 152 included in MSFS has the AP function greyed out in the GTN750. Presumably it’s set to 0 instead of 1 in the planes config file.

I think the stock 152 in MSFS (at least the one I have used in MSFS2020) is steam gauge only, no GTN or GNS devices in the panel. Do you have a screenshot?

It is, but that has no bearing on the GTN750 in many aircraft. It’s dependent on the line in the config file enabling or disabling autopilot.

I use it as a portable unit, rather than in dash.

Got it. Yes, I’ve used an external autopilot hardware controller on some third party planes that have AP “enabled” in the background.

Well, technically, the autopilot is the instructor sitting in the right seat…

Oh, the blasphemy… sigh

This is a simulator, I fly with no CFI and I barrel-roll this thing.

I’d never buy a plane without one IRL!

Just like I’d never buy a car without radar cruiser control! I know, there’s old things without these things… But when the new is tried, it stays

I did spins for real in an Aerobat before
That was a total blast.

Obviously I’m just kidding on the AP… if people want an AP in the 152, that’s fine with me

Of course I’d never do such a blasphemous thing, but, that’s just me
(Not to mention you’re not getting very far in a 152, though, then again, for long distance cross-country, I guess I must have flown one from Nashua, NH to MacArthur, LI NY… that was long before GPS, though… “Where am I?.. oh, phew, there’s that lake” Map flying was stressful for a newbie, lol even with a two VOR’s, lol. Of course I had flight following “Can they tell I’m a newbie? Will they laugh if I drift off course?”)

Part of the problem is I use a joystick throttle setup also. Because of my desk layout, it’s not the most comfortable to keep my hand on for hours either. That’s really the real reason. For taking off, landing, sight seeing, it’s all ok. But when I’m flying in a straight line for 20 or more miles I don’t want to have to hold the thing. Trimming only goes so far - weather depending. And I don’t like turning on auto trim because then it messes up slight turns and things like that when you need the sensitivity.
