Just can’t get the weather, any weather to work

No matter what I try I cannot get the weather to work…wherever I fly in the world it’s always sunny, clear and warm. All the settings look just fine. Really fast internet, weather set to live, nothing in my community folder, internet set to on but no weather. I’m really perplexed and frustrated. Help!

I9900K
RTX3090
2 X 2TB m.2 drives
375 MB actual download speed.

Set the weather to “Clear skies” before you start a flight. Once on the runway/gate/in the air use the toolbar to open the weather settings then change the weather in there to “Live Weather”. That seems to solve it for many. Also note it can be a few seconds after switching before it kicks in.

Thanks for a quick response, much appreciated. I tried that to no avail. Someone suggested I change servers but when I use the drop down to do that I find I cannot. In fact it’s set to automatic and the little spinning prop seems to be trying to find servers but not connecting. Also I noticed that “Market Place” is grayed out… I can sign in and out ouf Xbox account but that doesn’t help either. Seems to be a server issue but I am at a loss as to how to fix it… any ideas?

If you cannot switch servers, then the wider issue with the servers appears to ongoing. I’ve not had this issue but others have suggested logging out of Xbox account then back in again. Without any experience of this I cannot advise if it would help or not.

Tried all that, no luck. I have switched from WiFi to Ethernet (380MB) so I followed the guidance for that as explained in the Microsoft FAQ but no luck either. Why, after all these years does Windows still ■■■■!

Looks like you have connection issues. Check in your Windows Xbox gaming setting, you should be able to check to see if you can connect to the Xbox network. Maybe something is blocking your connection to them? Firewall, anti-virus and the likes.

If all else fail and you want weather. Just pick a weather preset or create your own custom weather.

For developers. I think we need a “dynamic” weather preset that just generates them randomly and dynamically change for each block. As long as it’s still within what’s meteorologically possible based on the seasons. So people having online issues like this can experience dynamic weather, even if it’s not Live.

Thanks. I followed Microsoft’s guidance on the whole Xbox connect reconnect process. I even adjusted the properties in the Ethernet connection. No luck, no weather and no Marketplace. Going to put the WiFi card back in today and disconnect the Ethernet. If that works I have at least narrowed down the suspect. Really frustrating though. Live, accurate and convincing weather was the main reason for ditching X-Plane.
