Hi I’ve just purchased this for my son and every time you start a flight in the air the thing shuts down and crashes?
With a low fuel warning.
If I start on the ground and switch the pumps and everything on it will take off and fly no problem, but doing the same in the air does nothing?
What am I missing?
Thanks.
Maybe the BAE is not programmed to be started in the Air?! It’s not a vanilla aircraft from Asobo.
Whatever it is, look at the fuel gauge, check all settings in the overhead and you maybe find the reason. Don’t know exactly, are there different profiles to start with, like the PMDG 737? If it so, maybe it’s a cold and dark state and you have to start all over, even when beginning in the air?
Just started the BAE inflight and it doesn’t shut down anything. Would guess in your case, that you switched on the “state saving” option as shown in my screenshot in the left column. This may lead to a shutdown, because the last known state was cold and dark at the apron?!
Just tried it again and yes, you’re right so far. My first test was beginning in FL300 und it worked out.
Now i tried it near by a destination in around 3300ft und this doesn’t worked.
Same thing, just ended up with all engine fails.
So my guess is, its just doesn’t work with the BAE, whatever the reason ist.
Hi thanks. Yes i was checking the load state and its off so not saving i guess.
I started on the ground ready for take off and everything was fine, didn’t have to mess with any fuel settings, plane took off and carried on flying no probs.
I tried Starting on landing approach and the engines died with low fuel warning, I switched on the pumps and tried to restart engines with no joy.
I managed to glide down onto the runway and stop eventually (No brakes) then engines 3 and 4 started but 1 and 2 remain dead.
My son of 11 who just likes doing what he calls hard landings will just have to be a bit more patient i guess and will have to take of then land.
First vid is starting from the ground and second vid is on approach.
Thanks.
One other thing I’ve noticed when taking off is like I don’t exist to other air traffic, like I get permission to enter the runway and permission to take off and sometimes other traffic carries on taking off and landing like I’m not there?
Internal ATC is a mess. Don’t use it.
Could be also other users which don’t care if you’re there or not.

The Just Flight forum has a Bae 146 section and they are extremely helpful. If you were to pose your question there I am sure you would receive a prompt answer.

are you talking about multiplayer? If yes, id turn it off. Its just peoples flying around randomly. But default traffic/ATC isnt much better, unfortunately. There are 3rd party solutions, but it will just increase your sons workload, but you might have a look at FSLiveTrafficLiveries or something like that.
I fly on VATSIM for this reason, with real peoples following realword procedures and realworld peoples as ATC, but i dont think this is for your very young son. Well, it could be, but he has to go trough some learning/training.

I don’t know if it’s on multiplayer or not, is that what the little green planes are on the map?
Thanks. My son likes learning about all the rules and procedures and doing things by the book.
I will have a look.
Thanks.
