Hi @NORTMAR Thank you. Just fyi the nosewheel steering wheel works if being controlled with mouse, as in dragging it around manually. It does indeed steer the aircraft. (But obv doesn’t work as a rudder).
I don’t think that I qualify as having young ears anymore but I think that is probably the de-synchronization between the two engines at higher RPMs. Spey engines are not 100% stable/synced in RPM so there always is a very minor fluctuation. The effect can quickly become exaggerated (i.e. will appear louder) when using two separate throttle axis if they are not matched in setting.

You have a functional weather radar?? AWESOME!!!
To give feedback to that very high pitch feeping noise. I also do hear that noise, and it is becoming more apparent, once one realizes it is there^^. It is not yet at a level it anoyes me. But I am using only one Throttle Axis.
Have to admit I like it. It sounds very realistic compared to the real aircraft from what I remember. (We used to fly in these a lot).
Another quick question. In some of the pre-release reviews it was mentioned about both 4K and 8K textures being included. (Checked manual)…
- How do we change that?
- Is it automatic?
- Was the feature maybe not released?
Thank you.
You can download the 8K textures here: F28 Professional 8K Textures : The Spirit of Flight Simulation

Thanks @NORTMAR I did check the manual but of it’s in there I must have missed it sorry.
Thanks I think for me I have figured it out.
If I load the plane and check the VFR MAP and the flight plan is in the map then regardless of state the GPS will have the Plan.
I just did a lovely flight from ESGG - ESMS, not to long but what a lovely plane, although I had a flight plan from Simbrief planned as VOR to VOR in the GPS I just went VOR to VOR and requested Vectors from FSHUD to the ILS.
The plane is a gem on approach, and through all phases, my issue is, I dont really get how pitch works works with the AP, I use the Up/Down switch next to the AP button but it seems to fight me, its hard to get it right. Is this normal? and I have the pitch mode set on the glare shield
One Press of the Pitch Rocker Switch shows not much of an impact for me too. I have to click the Rocker multiple times or hold it down to see an impact on my pitch. pay attention to the trim wheel itself, where you can see the changes.
Sounds like a normal jet compressor whistle to me. They were much louder back then. Modern jets have mostly bypass air which goes way slower.
The pitch selector is much easier/smoother to use with the control assignments
INCREASE AP PITCH HOLD REFERENCE
DECREASE AP PITCH HOLD REFERENCE

Managed to get some time in last night for a couple introductory flights. This is an absolutely amazing aircraft and my second one from Just Flight (146 being my first). Am not disappointed in the slightest!
The correct mode to operate the PITCH switch with the mouse is to click and hold button down until the desired pitch is obtained. Without a good visual to the VSI, just holding the switch in 2-3 secs intervals with VSI checks should work.

Just finished my first flight. YXE-YWG, using the F28-1000 in Canadian Regional livery. Taxi, takeoff, cruise very easy, though it’s throttle settings are pretty sensitive. 88% had me just below the cruise speed suggested in the manual, 90% had me blasting up against the speed limiter pretty quickly.
Descent was hairy. My kingdom for a VS mode, or a decoupler like the 146 has. The blue pitch control switches didn’t seem to do what I expected either (as I’m posting this though I see there’s a possible correction to my issue). And it REALLY doesn’t want to slow down at all.
ILS Y 13 landing was no problem at all to manage, until just about the runway when a strong crosswind from the left made the plane not want to settle. Also due to using an X56 twist axis as my rudder, which I just don’t have the finesse to do well. But I didn’t hear the custom wingstrike sounds, so that’s a good thing!
Only major disappointment was JF Traffic once again not populating my destination airport, despite entering the information before flight as instructed. This has only been an issue in recent weeks, not sure why.
Looking forward to learning more about this plane over the summer!
Wow pressing the rudder manually with the own feet like it was some car instead of having the FAC computer doing all the rudder controls of the plane… that is so awesome retro!
That´s like being a bird but being in need of using the own wings, or hand-flying some Cessna ![]()
Now I hate myself for not going to that airshow on July 9th but I cannot cope that unbearable humid heat on an airport. They had endless retro and classic planes there from the eighties but why do they have to do these airshows always when it has disgusting 35° with 100% humidity baah… Imagine seeing such a plane in real-life, awesome!!
Have to watch some YouTube videos about real Fokkers tonight…
What can the weather radar of the JustFlight Fokker do, has it some interesting functions available? Zoom and radar tilt?
The weather radar functions were not covered in any of the YouTube preview videos of this aircraft that´s why I am especially curious about this specific instrument…
The radar is limited to the very basic integration offered by MSFS, so no tilt and there’s a chance range works (haven’t tried).
The autopilot altitude hold needs tuning, the plane often starts oscillating between -400 and +400 ft/min with each cycle lasting about 5 seconds. Very uncomfortable for the passengers, I’d imagine. Manually applying a bit of opposite elevator calms it down for a few seconds but it quickly starts oscillating again.
Should the JF_F28.ini file be write-protected, or not? My GNS selection disappears unless I have State Saving ticked.
I was on an hour cruise and it never did this - what FL and speed were you at and do you know the wind conditions? Curious if I can get this to happen.
