Just Flight PA 28 MkIV prop rpm issue?

I’m finding that my prop rpm lever automatically increases every so often. Both rpm increases and the cockpit lever both increase ( the lever moves forward.)

I don’t have this bound to any control device, instead using my mouse to make any adjustments, whilst my throttle is bound to my HOTAS throttle.

This often happens once I’ve set my rpm and throttle position and am either letting the aeroplane settle before trimming or whilst trimming the elevator.

I’m a new sim pilot so I’ve no idea whether I’m doing something silly, don’t know enough about the aircraft itself (I.e. the MkIV has some sort of auto override) or if it’s a bug or control issue…as in it should be bound to a control.

I’m at work at the moment and will go through the Just Flight manual later but after a quick flight over Singapore before work this morning thought I’d make a post just in case anyone can help.

Thanks

EDIT: I should say that I haven’t had this issue before or that I’m flying with any new software, add-ons etc since I last flew it.

Double, triple and quadrouple check you control bindings. I’m sure there’s a little bugger in there somewhere.

I usually list by “assigned” in the controls page, and go through all my controllers one by one to weed out these stray default bindings. I had a lot of them.

Also disconnect any control devices you aren’t actively using, like a stray gamepad. It may have things bound to it that it shouldn’t.

@atledreier and @hobanagerik - thanks for the advice.

It turned out to be my gamepad. Not an issue in itself but when binding controls for the drone cam it seems I managed to bind prop rpm to it as well. I’ve no idea how but it’s now been cleared and I’m back with a working aircraft.

I overlooked setting up the drone cam in my ‘edit’ info. Another lesson learned today. Double, triple and quadruple check those binds.

Thanks again
