Thank you for all that. I would love to do more videos on the Longitude but until it gets to the level of the CJ4, I just can’t. I hate to say it, but the Longitude needs a lot of work in FS2020. Videos with the business jets in FS2020 are fun to make, but I really enjoy (and miss) the GA aircraft which is why I focus on those a lot.
Here’s your proof. We chased that Pic Boi and their little Pitts into Jersey even…
Also to keep this Arrow related… I’m still loving it. But I dunno if it beats a cessna. Maybe on paper, but I like to look around and I can’t see through the wing.
Guys, this is a thread to talk about the Piper Arrow. Please be so kind to open separate threads in the suiting categories to continue your talk.
While it might be interesting and entertaining for some, it isn’t for others that get notifications about posts in this thread to, yet again, see off topic.
I started the thread, it’s my thread. I know what it’s about.
I like your light mod for the Arrow on Flightsim.to BTW. Thanks for doing that.
Will not discuss this further, I just kindly asked.
Avoiding off topic discussions is a general rule applying to thread openers alike.
Thanks!
I know, i had to unfollow it. I’m getting alerts and thinking, why am i tracking these topics?
Please stay on-topic about the JustFlight Piper Arrow III.
@Yeti64
It only works if you have less than 8 qt, and it works only if you click on the quantity and not on the refill button.
I changed my sensitivity to 0 and it flies like a dream now! Thanks for the tip!
By the way I didn’t understand why the aircraft is set up to idle above 1000rpm with throttle fully back. Just because that is the recommended idling speed before and after runup doesn’t mean that we can’t go below that, otherwise the all spark fouling simulation is useless.
There’s some discussion here on the forum and in the JF forum, basically everyone agrees that ~700rpm idle would be correct. Let’s hope JF changes that in the upcoming patch due today or tomorrow.
In the JF forum there is a fix to change that in the config files manually, but for me that’s not as important so I first wait if they fix it before touching that config myself.
just tried the fix and it works great…
look for the line…idle_rpm_mechanical_efficiency_scalar=0 in the engine.cfg and change it to… idle_rpm_mechanical_efficiency_scalar=0.49
great work and thanks to Cygnific
I filed a bug on this with JF yesterday.
That’s a good one, thanks.
With 0.49 it idles at 500 rpm which seems a bit too low, tried with 0.60 and it seems more appropriate at around 750rpm
It will be fixed in today’s/tomorrow’s patch anyway, so don’t bother tweaking
I’ll get this plane as soon as it is available on the in-game marketplace…
Why waiting? The installation is pretty easy and you get notified via email once there’s an update.
Upsides of buying directly from JF:
- Discount for Turbo Arrow III/IV
- Updates available straight away (no waiting for marketplace approval)
- Unlocked files to support mods
- Great support directly from the creators
- You can fly now
It won’t be cheaper on the Marketplace, so I wouldn’t wait.
That’s all true and these are very good points. But if you want to use the xbox version at some point in the future you’re bound to the marketplace.
Another good reason to use the market place: Flight Simulator is server based and costs Microsoft money to operate
As far as I know Microsoft does get get a share of the Marketplace sales. So, it stands to reason that Marketplace sales also go towards keeping the lights on, so we hopefully can enjoy all those addon aircraft for a long time to come without resorting to the offline scenery.
I’ll agree to that idea but as long as the Marketplace is so slow in process for releasing updates/patches and the downloads are encrypted, it’s simply no option for me.
It’s up to MS/Asobo to change both these things if they like more purchases but as it is right now, it’s simply not an alternative for me.
I already have Premium Deluxe so I paid more than the average GamePass user anyhow and MS probably knows what money they need to keep the service running.
Probably they’ll release paid addons soon as well which will bring income as well as the XBox release. They won’t starve
And sorry for getting off topic here, the pros and cons of the marketplace are discussed anyway in other threads.
