Stabilator, yes.
Regarding the crosswind / weathervaning, still trying to find something that actually works in all situations. It is set so that the crosswind has an effect at all speeds because, as I see it, anything else is just unrealistic and causes problems elsewhere. Wind has an effect on aircraft even when they are stationary. Turning off wind effect until the aircraft hits a certain speed is as poor a compromise in my opinion as any other option we have.
The contact ‘up to’ speeds you mention, I went artificially high with the main gear to try and hold the weathervane effect in check a bit but the nosewheel is lower in order to allow some effect as the nose begins to lighten. The problem is, if I strengthen the nosewheel ‘stickiness’ at all the inability to turn against wind becomes proportionally greater.
The Warrior is as close to an accurate shape as I could get it, bearing in mind the SDK’s statement that an accurate shape is the most important part of the flight model. The wind’s effect on that shape is obviously still causing issues and as I see it whatever we do now is just a massive compromise.
