In a nutshell no, a Warrior’s autopilot cannot follow a glideslope.
It’s in the manual that the autopilot has no altitude holding/tracking capability and they only added the former for those that might want it in the sim.

Thank you. I figured that may be the case. I’ll go hunt the manual down.
As it’s a fairly basic GA aircraft (often a trainer) I’d say the autopilot, when fitted, is only something you would use in the cruise for maintaining course.
I didn’t fly many ILS’ in a real Warrior, but those I did were all hand-flown for training purposes.
I can imagine. I’m not a pilot, but have been simming for a good few months now on various aircraft. They seem to vary so much in specs, much like real life I suppose.
Loving the Warrior, it’s so nice for traditional navigation purposes. I leave the GPS off all the time. Finding it great to track VORs & NDBs and radials with. I’ve located the manual now, but I usually just dive in to the aircraft and learn as I go along. ALT hold is very useful it has to be said, glad they put it in, but it’s such a tiny button!
Definitely agree. As it’s a sim, having the ability to go hands off for a bit is invaluable.
IMHO the Warrior is brilliant. It really feels and flies as I remember it and I miss GA flying. It’s such a shame it’s so ludicrously expensive these days ![]()
Glad to hear you’re enjoying it!
I had been toying with picking up JF Arrow/s, but after seeing many positive comments about the Warrior I went for it instead. Can’t say I’m disappointed at all. Fantastic aircraft for learning non GPS navigation in. Generally my go to aircraft now for that purpose. I love the ease of dialing in frequencies on those big COM/NAV/NDB dials, GPS units are overrated for that purpose ![]()
I could recommend the Arrow(s) too if you eventually want something a bit more complex and a bit more geared to longer distances.
They’re all excellent products.
I have the JF Hawk too so I can definitely say JF products are all top quality. I’m just not sure how many more GA aircraft I can justify, what would be different in the arrows? I already have quite a few 3rd party aircraft and have too little time for them all. Maybe I just need to start simming 24/7🤣
I agree, I started with the Warrior and Turbo Arrows. Then recently I picked up the Hawk. Wow, they are all amazing and the best planes I own. Loving to learn how to fly the Hawk (properly).
I still need to learn the Hawk properly on the to do list
, it does look fantastic though. I may look into the Arrows if they go on sale again. The Warrior, I much prefer over the likes of the default cessna 152. Will be interesting to see what happens to the JF GA aircraft with the new prop modelling releasing with SU8. Will they evolve going forward? The 152 will have the new prop modelling so I may jump back just to go check it out when SU8 releases.
You could always assign a keyboard/joystick button to toggle the altitude hold function, a lot easier that way.
thanks, good idea.
Check your attitude (well, not your attitude, your plane’s attitude). I at times need to keep it about there for that if I come into the glideslope a little low and flat in the Warriors I fly.
I love the Warrior, it’s a dream to fly. I have no complains.
Just want to share something I noticed using the AP. After switching on the AP and pressing the Alt Hold knob everything works as expected. If I then switch off the AP (without switching off Alt Hold before), then land the plane, take off again and then switch on the AP and Alt Hold, the AP wants to go to the altitude it was at before landing.
Doesn’t happen always, just sometimes.
I would like to see adverse yaw implemented in the FM. IIRC adjusting aileron drag values has been a feature available to devs since Sim Update IV.
Check out CCMs mod on .to
I have all four, The Arrow, the two Turbo and the Warrior.
The Warrior is probably the pick of the JF PA28 in terms of overall feel and immersion, probably the most realistic of them all and the pick of them if you only want the one aircraft.
The Arrow is nice but does not offer a lot more over the warrior other than the RG and CSU prop.
Neither the Arrow or the Warrior are particularly fast and neither are great at altitude and can struggle in mountains.
The Turbo Arrows also have the RG and CSU that the Arrow gets, but also are Turbo normalised which means over 10000’ you get much better climb performance and you can eventually get up over 20,000 feet. it is also faster at altitude. This makes the Turbo Arrow much more suited ot flying in mountains and for long trips.
Basically first choice for me is to fly the Warrior unless I am in high country or flying a long way in which case I opt to take out the Arrow III (the better behaved non T-Tail variant) .
Actually the turbo Arrows are turbo-charged, not turbo-normalised. They will give you much more than sea level pressure
It is already in there, has been since it was introduced. I don’t know if you’re expecting glider-style adverse yaw where the nose swings quite a bit away from the direction of the turn, but all comparable GA aircraft I have flown tend to do little more than a slight opposite sway which is what I have aimed for with the PA28s.
I agree that the adverse yaw feels pretty accurate as it is.
The PA28s don’t actually have that much adverse yaw as they use frise ailerons to counter it
