Hi all. We were aiming to release updates today but have decided to postpone until tomorrow to give us more time for installer and testing work.
Coming tomorrow (PA28 Warrior II v4.1):
GPS screen brightness logic improved - now defaults to full brightness, combined navigation/radio light switch tooltip now shows more info on position
Interactive paper charts enabled again and WASM crash issue fixed
Tweaks to Warrior flight model pitch
Also coming soon (not necessarily tomorrow):
Overhead dome light artwork improved
Custom fuel and payload menu added to our EFB tablet
Thanks for all the continued feedback, and patience with resolving the bundle issues over the weekend. As mentioned earlier, these updates are focused on bringing the PA28s to MSFS 2024 largely as-is, with more significant upgrades planned for later in the year, once weāve finished bringing our other aircraft to MSFS 2024, released the F70/100 etc.
Just wanted to say thank you for all your quick work. I donāt even has FS24 yet, but seeing the Warrior get this level of love is sure making it tempting - I love it in FS2020 and am just waiting for FS24 to stabilize.
Fixed custom MSFS callsign preventing WASM gauge from loading - Interactive Paper Charts re-enabled
Improved GPS display brightness logic - All GPS displays now default to full brightness when the combined navigation/radio light switch is OFF, then they can be varied throughout the rest of the switch range - switch tooltip now also shows more info on position
This isnāt specific to the Warrior as much as it is all aircraft that use a custom EFB but Iām really hoping that eventually developers will come around to integrating their custom EFB functions as an app that lives in the Asobo EFB, and then model the Asobo EFB in the cockpit where their custom one is. Only one developer that Iām aware of has begun doing this, but Iām hopeful that it spreads to others.
Hmm, I have nothing (to my knowledge) bound to those controls and was just hoping to interact with the mouse, but no luck. I will double check later today to see if I have any unintended bindings that are conflicting.
The problem is, if thereās a controller assignment, it can override your mouse clicks. Did you make sure you have no controller assignments.
(I learned a long time ago that I can have assignments I donāt know I have, and, when I do, itāll cause weird behavior. I used to keep multiple controllers attached, even if I wasnāt using one, I learned you canāt do that)
Yeah, thatās what Iāll be checking this evening - though from what I can tell, the default presets donāt have anything bound to any of the PRIMER controls, and I certainly havenāt added any.
So finally able to test - nothing at all bound to any primer controls, but mouse clicks on the primer pump do nothing in the virtual cockpit This has been tested on both 1.3.23.0 and 1.4.18.0 with versions 0.4.0 and 0.4.1 of the Warrior.
Thanks for confirming. Weāve found and fixed the issue with clicking the primer, and thatāll be included in the next update. In the meantime you should be able to use any of the three primer control assignments to trigger the primer.
Itās been submitted and now you need to wait for MS to carry out their specific procedure before they launch it on the their Marketplace. Hopefully not too long to wait.
Different results for me between 2020 and 2024. In light wind, the Warrior is fantastic in both versions. During one flight with a runway heading of 35 (Lihue/PHLI) and a 9 kt wind from 060, the Warrior still displayed squirrely weather-vaning on takeoff and landing in 2020. In 2024 with the same conditions, it was as solid as an airliner. Takeoff was a non-event ā so much so that I was worried that I didnāt set the right wind conditions, but sure enough I could feel the crosswind on final, and set it down as easy as I can and let her roll out to the runway exit with no drama. In both versions the aircraft was easy to trim and maintain altitude and speed with very little flight controls and power input (just as I remember from my couple of flights in a Warrior 40-some years ago). The only thing I noticed out of place (maybe) was that I needed zero rudder input during takeoff.
Other than ābelievableā flight models, the biggest compliment that I can give to any aircraft in the sim is that I can hand fly them for 40-60 minutes without wanting to reach for the autopilot. Both the Warrior and Arrow are two of only a handful of aircraft that pass that test with flying colors.
