Mine is set to 300, will see if i can load in at KDCA at 300, then change to 200 and try again.
While the below is probably not relevant to this particular issue, it could well help other selective bugs –
I wish there was a Utility one could run, that would list all the Dlls being used by MSFS, and their size, date and VERSION Number.
Sysinternals goes so way to listing all the Dlls, but it’s list does not show version numbers.
If there was some tracking of these versions, and easily comparing them between different users, maybe that would explain a lot of these Differences users are having.

So I tried to load in at 300 LOD, CTD. Loaded in at 200 LOD, no CTD and sat at the gate. must be a LOD issue.
This would make sense, as Asobo have been doing a lot of LOD changes in SU5 & SU6.
Any suggestion as to what could be done to temporarily change LODs, to hide the issue. (I do not know much about LODs and editing them )
It it that something at the center of this area, could have some sort of Bug, at a certain LOD level, and if it does, why does it not just report it in the debug console, as opposed to crashing the sim. (compiled in debug mode issue ?? )
I just attempted to load into KDCA (windows 10) at a parking spot. I have terrain LOD set to 300 and had a CTD.
if 300 the default, or something you have edited / modded ?

@N6722C I am not sure I understand your question. In my Graphics options the terrain level of detail slider is set to 300.
I suspect, as @Larodian tried above, if I change that slider to LOD 200 then I may have success at loading in to KDCA.

OK, just figure out the LOD setting.
I actually have mine (for testing) set all the way down to 25, which may explain why I have to get withing the 5nm of the No Fly zone center, to get a CTD
Will try 300, and see if I then get a CTD all the way out at KDCA

At LOD 300, now I cannot spawn at KDCA without a CTD !!
I was also able to complete a visual approach, getting past the bridge where i got CTD. and land. i wonder if the LOD above 200 is an issue at other places? I will leave it there for now.
can you try like 250 or something? be nice to see where the limit is
Note- With LOD 300 I have been able to successfully land on runway 19 at KDCA (yesterday) and taxi off at one of the early turnoffs without any ctd. I was in a GA light aircraft.
Edit: Scrap that- DOH… I was in VR with LOD set to 100!
It definitely seems to be a LOD issue.
The impression I get is that whatever the LOD settings you have, even if they are very low, if you get close enough to this CTD area, you will CTD.
Maybe the primary issue is, that MSFS is not handling the error correctly, and is Crashing, rather than just logging it, and recovering.
Maybe it was always an issue , even before SU6, but the error handling was working before, but now is not (once again, compiled in debug mode ?? )

Some people get CTDs at KCGS. Just want to make sure those people are not left out too.
I have been getting CTDs at KDCA and the general Washington area with LOD at 250 and 300.
Just wondering if the KADW issue extends to the KCGS area or if there’s separate issues in different areas.
Exactly, its NOT an LOD issue per se, its just that the ctd happens further out, because a bigger area gets loaded.
At LOD 10 !!! (the lowest setting), I can fly to 2.5nm of the center of the CTD circle, before I get a CTD.
There must be something there ?
Some Alien artifact, that is tearing the space-time continuum … or just a bad Scenery object ??

What is your current Scenery LOD set at ?
I bet if you turn your LOD down to say 100, you will have no issue spawing at College Park ( KCGS)
It’s got to be something in the Sceney, at the center of the RED DOT (in previous Image), that is causing the CTD … but what, and can it it Modded out, or will we have to wait for Asobo to deal with it ?
