KDFW Ground texture problem

I have the same problems that other users have had it in the past, such as terminal buildings that are missing or poorly rendered. Now, the game freezes on the loading screen when DFW is picked as the departure airport. I tried an experiment by taking off from DAL and landing at DFW. When landing at DFW, the first 2 thousand feet of either end of whatever runway that I am using has very poor graphic detail. The middle of the runway has normal graphic detail. There are problems after landing, though. There are now fissures and bumps along the taxiways that cause terminal damage to the aircraft. DFW is my home airport, so it would be kind of nice to be able to use it.

Things that I have tried in order to fix the problem with no satisfactory results:

  1. Deleting cache.
  2. Reinstalling game.
  3. Hard reset of the Xbox (Series X).

Our test team was only able to repro this issue when they have the 3rd party pack of this particular airport installed - can others confirm if they are using it? Thanks!

I didn’t have any 3rd party content for KDFW. I had unrelated 3rd party content, but I removed everything from my community folder for troubleshooting, and it didn’t resolve the issue.

I have a 3rd party addon to add lighting to KDFW to help with it being so dark at night. After getting the issue, I ran with an empty community folder and the issue was still there even with no 3rd party items. (I have the premium deluxe store version of MSFS.)

Okay, thank you all for the info. Can you also confirm which World Updates you have installed?

I have WU 1 through 10 installed.

Having the same issue, landed on 35C today and I dropped into a hole and then got stuck on the other side of it. Here is a screenshot of the runway
DFW is a mess. SU12, W11

I think Photogrammetry needs complete attention.

Hi Jayne, hope you’re doing well! I submitted a similar issue with the bridges north of terminal A and blurry ground textures. Tested both with and without anything installed in community folder. Currently in latest live build. I have all world updates and the Asobo KDFW installed. Issue disappears when you turn off photogrammetry. I don’t have those bumps in the picture, but something is definitely going on with KDFW related to photogrammetry. Hope this helps!

Zendesk reference number #192823 I have a picture attached to my report as well.

you see this only at KDFW??
i have this issue everywhere. PC. got hit by this bug, ruined everything :frowning:

I am not sure if it is this what you mean, but this is what I get: throughout most of KDFW, ground texture resolution is horrible, and it seems to be related to the tiles that make up the terrain structure. Only the far ends of Runways 13R and 31R are OK, because they seem to lie on other tiles not affected by the issue. You can see in the screenshots I took that there are also some elevation steps at the tile limits - which will break your aircraft if you taxi over them at higher speeds. I have turned Terrain LOD and Object LOD all the way up in my settings, so this can’t be the reason (and in any case it shouldn’t be, anyway!)

Also, the taxiways that cross bridges over roads are pretty much unusable

I don’t know how long it has been this way, but as it is, KDFW is currently useless as a destination

Did you ever resolve this?

I reported on this issue here: WU10 + SU12 synergy in terrain abnormalities in North Texas

See if removing WU10 (USA) fixes the issue.

Glad I’m not the only one with the problem. The entire metro area seems to have issues loading in. Love Field doesn’t have issues but I had to be pretty much on top of the airport for the terminal to even load in.

This is still happening to me. Nowhere else that I can confirm.

I’m presenting the same issue. And I have resintalled 2 times from scratch my MSFS 2020. (Yesterday), making sue all folders where deleted including community folder.

I can point out something that was interesting during my installations, after installing just the base install everything was well, but after installing all the free content including the world updates (all of them) the issue presented again

Its a mess for me as well. I’ll probably move my airplane to Miami until this is fixed.
