And with mods, or still without mods ?
You can first do same test-flight in “Safe Mode”.
Otherwise all possible reasons must be checked…so many things can cause that…
I would still do tests with limiting fps in nvidia control center to 30.
The other hints may be repeated:
- anti-virus tool : you can stop all modules of it , which tool you own ?
- disable HAGS : in graphic settings hardware…gpu…schedule )
- drivers : up2date ?
- so many other things possible…
If all that will not help… hmmm… some users reported issues in case enabled photogrammetry. But would say, step by step

how to test in safe mode? when i try to relaunch it there’s no option for Normal Mode or Safe Mode
btw i play on 1920 x1080 monitor but i have DSR enabled to 4K…
you not get the safe-mode question and there is no new message in event log ?? Did you mean a Crash to Desk, or a application freeze ? In case of CTD it should be both things “exist”.
But you can force the Safe-Mode with place a file called running.lock to Roaming folder:

Getting CTDs to desktop.
1.24.5.0, Win 11, not VR
WTCJ4 and C172 NXi
Seems new after WU8 .
Just re-installed Win11 in-place.
Happened with NVidia driver 511.79.
Just installed Nvidia driver 512.15.
Still CTDs.

Have till now no issue ( win 10 , 512.15 ) with my DC-6…
No, renamed my Community Folder to Community1.
Still had the trouble.
Took off everything. No fix.
Global Rendering to High End from Ultra
Terrain LoD to 2 from 5
Object LoD from 9 to 2
That fixed the problem.
WT CJ4 flies okay now. No CTDs.
Put them back:
High End → Ultra
Terr LoD → 5
Obj LoD → 9
Still flies Okay. No CTDs.
Strange. . . . . . . .

No. Wouldn’t know what to look for.
Win 11 and CTDs still happening.
Also, Crash to Restarts.
Terrain LoD set to 3 now but stlill crashing.
Tomorrow, I’m going back to High End with Terrain and Obj set to 2.
if still CTDing, I’m going to:
Re-install Win 11 in-place.
Repair FS2020.
Download WT CJ4 ver 12 new and install.

No CTDs.

I took off the additional UserCfg.opt settings , Ter LOD = 5 , Obj LoD=9.
Set Rendering Quality to “High End”.
Set Aircraft Traffic type to “Off”.
Set Real World Traffic to “Off”.
And FS2020 flies without any CTDs.
There has been changes made to FS2020
but I don’t know who and why
but after WU8 which I have not installed.
For one instance, I fly the WTCJ4 with a saved Flight (.flt) modified so that the Cloud icon appears on the screen menu.
When I load this flight, it has always loaded with no fuel.
I would have to load it.
Now it loads with 50% fuel.
And the RED colored line is new
along with the “Reset” line at the bottom. I don’t remember it.
When I click “Reset”, it returns the fuel to 50% and the
Red color disappears. (after you fly some and use the fuel)
Note: I don’t know why Win 11 Snipping Tool adds the grey fog to the screenshot. It used to be “Snip& Search”, I think.
Anyways, no more CTDs.

FINALLY I FOUND WHAT CAUSE IT…it’s DSR i use DSR to 4.00X which mean 4K Res in my 1080p monitor…is there any way to play with DSR without crashing?
well, just try the in-game render scale instead…
Otherwise is may again driver stuff.
