Keep VR mouse in place while hand flying

I’ve noticed that if I’m hand flying the aircraft in VR, the mouse cursor will re-center itself with any aileron or elevator movement on my Xbox style controller. This makes it extremely difficult to multitask in VR, and does not happen in 2D flying. I.e. needing to punch in info or turning a knob, but it’s near impossible due to the tiny inputs needed to keep the plane straight and level that cause the mouse pointer to re-center.

This is similar to this thread, but that one is related to the viewing, but this is related to control inputs.

If this issue is also by design, it is a very poor design.

Looks like same issue than reported below. If you are using a PC with an Xbox like controller it could be the issue. By any chance do you have a PC joystick to check if issue also occurs ?.

I have reported this too. I’m on a PC, and if I have the mouse hovering over a control ready to do something with it, then have to glance out the window, the mouse position changes in 3D space. I have crashed a few times because of this bug or bad design. No explanation was given for the reasoning behind the behavior. I consider this a MAJOR issue in usability and getting a curt/rude response without any explanation was extremely disappointing. I’m pretty sure in a real airplane if I have my hand somewhere and turn my head to look out the window, my hand does not magically jump to where I am looking

Is that the report you are referring to ?, if so I am seeing some explainations provided for the closure.

That’s the thread I linked to in my original post. To be clear, my request isn’t about the mouse resetting as the view changes (though would be nice to fix too). I can still be looking at the area I’m interacting with, and it’s the control input that is resetting it.

I agree. This should definitely be an option to turn on/off and there should be a binding to bring the mouse into the center of the view.
I’m sure they fired the previous UI/UX designer and everything will be fixed in MSFS 2024
