Go to each category you are not interested in.
Example: VR
At the top of each forum is an Alarm Bell. Select the Muted so the new posts or changed posts never appear for you.
Do this for every subcategory in VR that you don’t want to see.
When viewing the forum next, make sure you are at top most level, and use Latest button at the top to sort posts.
You will never see VR appear in this view again.
