Beginning of the year I took a break from MSFS 202X. In the past 2 months I have been trying to get 2024 to work and now have a really annoying issue.
In BOTH FS2020 and 2024 at random times my keyboard will become completely unresponsive, no inputs are registered in any program on my computer. There is no windows disconnect notification and the RGB (I know gross) will remain the same. The issue is only temporarily solved when I re-plug the keyboard in.
I have tried safe mode with all addons disabled: Still happens.
I have switched around all of the USB ports: Still happens.
I thought maybe a windows issue: Problem only ever occurs in MSFS, no other game has the issue even when I leave the keyboard idle for awhile.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am contemplating completely reinstalling windows at this point.
I have the same thing when using 2024.
Every so often the keyboard becomes ‘non working’
After some investigating I found that cycling (just using a power on/power off button on my multi USB hub) any of my USB devices (my keyboard is also USB) it would wake up the keyboard and all good again.
Try.
In windows search bar type CMD
right click on it and select run as administrator
Copy the command below and paste into CMD
(right click to paste into CMD)
powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61
Reboot the system.
Go to windows settings > system > power & sleep > additional power settings
Select ultimate performance
Reboot the system.
Go to > device manager > universal serial bus controllers
Right click on USB Root Hub
and select properties
Go to power management tab and uncheck “allow the computer …”
Click Ok and reboot the system.
