Is there anything better for KMIA than LVFR (aka LatinVFR) version of this airport?
For such a popular destination, the third payware party airport is not impressive.
Seems like an opportunity for a quality developer…

I’m pretty impressed by LVFR’s version. What are the issues you are having?
I’m glad you said that because it usually has fairly good reviews in the app stores, I just never understood why (same with KSAN).
-I find the terminal green interior lights offputting. The buildings themselves appear to lack detail. (It feels like a copy from an old version).
-Lighting when taxiing at night seems poor (at least to me)
-This is completely subjective but the scenery lacks any excitement.
-Apparently this payware adds visuals of the city. I guess this is something I dont pay as much attention too. Im more concerned with the airport itself.
I’ve never been to Miami. Maybe the airport is just really kind of dull on the exterior.
Am I really the only one that feels this way?
Most Lvfr sceneries are for msfs standards pretty old and are some if the first third party addons. By current day standards i think they would get more average reviews. Not bad… but certainly not great.
I think what’s really lacking is any kind of building interiors. Makes the terminals look so flat. But in the sea of VRAM hungry airports from other developers, I’m learning to appreciate the LATINVFR ones more and more.
Yes,
I should state that the lack of interior modelling is of little concern to me. I rarely drone inside of an airport. That in itself is not a problem to me. Also helps keep performance up by not including it.
However the green window look at night. It appears a long way from current standards. There must be a better way (i dont know anything about designing an airport. Not saying I would do a better job than LVFR).
Once again, it comes down to the feel. I dont know if the real airport is the same way but the terminals feel more like a storage warehouse at night time with green lighting than a place with travellers and life.
I have the MIA and it looks and works well imo. I’m on Xbox.
What we need is KMCO, KMCi, KDFW, KMKE- All Xbox marketplace eligible.
Thanks for your post @paisl3ypark
I had the time for one flight.
This new release by BMWorld/Amsim addresses my concerns. IMO, overall visually superior.
Ofcourse this comes at a performance cost. I experienced a few minor stutters when nearing the gate. In my case after one flight this was very tolerable. (There is an HD and SD texture version included with this airport. I havent tried the SD).
Happy so far. Not sure how others will see it but I believe the challenger has overtaken the defender.
Edit: I don’t have GSX. Can’t speak to any compatibility concerns.
Anyone have a thorough review of this new KMIA from ini and BMworld? I have the LVFR version and it’s ok, nothing great. Would love a better version but I haven’t touched any BMWorld sceneries due to some sketchy past reviews.
I’ve refrained from doing a thorough review because I’ve never been to the actual airport. All I can say is on a general level I am much more pleased with this release. IMO, It simply has more eye candy than the LVFR version.
Found this video for anyone looking for a more detailed, objective review:
So this may be interesting to folks here. Under SU14 on Xbox Series X I had uninstalled BMworld/Amsim KPHX due to consistent BS on approach/arrivals. It just wasn’t working for me and my Xbox. I have just reinstalled it running SU15 beta because I am finding that 3rd party airports and scenery are running great in the beta. I will try a few flights into/out of KPHX to see if maybe I may be interested in KMIA. Early days for KMIA but blue skies ahead for my Xbox. Cheers!
Eye candy is great, but if performance is bad then it doesn’t matter and LFVR will have to stick for now. LFVR’s wouldn’t be bad if they’d just correct the taxiway lines and runway centerlines so they’re straight and without sharp angles. Adding the moving tram to the top of the D concourse would also be great, they have the one from the terminal to satellite E gates working… If those things got fixed / added, LVFR would have a good product because their performance is great.
This is the issue i’ve read about with BMWorld, might look good, but bad performance and bugs are the norm.
How do you define good performance? I get 30+ FPS with AI enabled at the airporr no problem. Anything beyond that seems wasted and I’d rather have the eye candy.
While LVFRs scenery is nothing special visually, I find it good enough, with the static aircraft and performance. I’ve tried both now so far and can say one of the reasons I went back to LVFR is because of the cityscape. Since I live in Miami it’s pretty cool when i’m flying in at night from the east and i’m greeted with the vibrant colors and accurate buildings of downtown Miami. That being said, I agree that the inibuilds product is much prettier with a hit on performance. Only gripe I have is that the regional gates are already extended and not sized correctly
Recently picked up BM KMIA is a stuttering mess and I’m using a 4080 super with SD textures.
Don’t have this issue with FT airports and they look miles better.
Won’t be buying another from this dev.
Real fps no frame gen on.
Agreed that the BMWorld KMIA stutters badly independent how good or bad overall FPS is. Reluctantly going back to the depressing LVFR KMIA…
I made the original post here.
Although I don’t much like the terminal buildings (especially at night) in the LVFR version, I must admit that it is running extraordinarily smoothly compared to BMW version lately (even in SD mode). Also has great runway/taxiway markings. Ive gone back to LVFR (at least for now).
BMW recently had an update which apparently touches on performance but have not tried it yet.
I have locked my fps to 35, and even with TLOD 50 I go down to 25 FPS near KMIA by BWM. Bigger INIbuild and FlyTampa airports keep me stable at 35 fps but not here, something is not optimized.
BMW/Amsim KMIA was recently updated. Apparently performance was addressed. It does seem better but still not as well optimised as other, similar-sized airports.
