Lack of Communication from Microsoft and Asobo

I am very pleased with the lateat update.
It finally acknoledged that there are more issues than just the servers and gives some highly appreciated details and quite clear expectation for the next 2 weeks.

I feel a lot better now, even though there was no immediate changes or fixes to the sim were provided
This shows how important a proper communication is.

Totally agree.

And really, if their next Q&A is as transparent as the ones they do for 2020, we will likely have too much information soon.

That is why this feels so odd. We are used to having devs talk to us about this stuff and we haven’t yet seen that with 2024 beyond Jörg’s posts.

Today’s update was MUCH more true to the Jörg we are used to hearing from and I agree, I already feel better about things. The sim is a mess of bugs, but I do trust the team to quell them ASAP. It will take several months at least but I trust they will do the work.

So Jorg is saying that the VRAM bug (performance issue) is not going to be addressed by the 3rd patch?

With all due respect, I’m not sure about what do you guys expect at all. You can see this kind of behaviour by every single company, it doesn’t matter how much money you spent on it or for how long you’re fighting against things like CTD, stuttering, connection etc.

It’s not properly a Microsoft or Asobo exclusive trouble. I’m ready to bet and challenge anyone to try to get precisely in touch with very much smaller teams like Cipsoft (Tibia), Riot Games (League of Legends), Blizzard (Diablo, World of Warcraft), EA (FIFA), Konami (PES) or even great product owners and producers like Logitech (former Saitek) or Sony (PS).

You’ll be solemnly ignored. Your patience will be deeply tested with autochats or coms robots. When you’re almost losing your mind, then it happens: you manage to talk to a human being. Guess what? They’re precisely trained to drain whatever remained of your health. No one of them will be able to touch anything, since their position (as a worker) is too low for that.

Then, it’s about to restart, all over again: they drop your call after 50min of absolutely unproductive dialogue and if you want to have anyone to listen to you again, you’ll be forced to test your patience again with another autochat or robot.

They’re all the same. As a matter of fact, the only solution is to buy or rent whatever you want to and prey to your favorite deity to simply don’t put you in trouble regarding that product.

What else? Nothing else. We will always be hostages to this and those companies, and it is what it is. I’m always suggesting a big boycott, which makes them feel in their revenue, in order to have the chance to be listened. However, at this point, after 14 long years taking battles by myself, I’ve just stopped.

Let’s be an expendable hostage forever.

I agree to you. Sadly there are to many people accepting this type of behaviour, nothing will change.
I am getting tiered as well.
Sad part is, the fact that we are even here shows how hostile we are. I am passionated about my hobby. Spent a fortune on Hard- and Software.
Had some issues with 2020 too but I manged to find ways around. Should have just walked away at this point already.
Sad part is, at this point my investment mentioned above does prevent me from doing so. But I understand this is a me problem.
This type of business practice is just disgraceful, disrepectful and if you would do business like this you will get punished for this. But not such a big company like MS.

Finaly regarding the statement. I do not know why to do a problem solved statement without even waiting on the feedback of the community if it is realy solved. I am sure this will limit some of the issues. But why not wait on the feedback?
This way of thinking brought us to this point in the first place. And it will continue over the next patches and SU.

What I read in short form is: “Problem solved, go away now!”

Yes, I think in situations like this we all have to get to grips with that pesky, disingenuous language we call Corporate speak. Common phrases have been slightly altered to subtlety alter their meaning.
It’s because of fear of accepting liability for a serious issue. We have to try and read between the words somehow. Honesty gets lost in that process and it often feels like someone has turned up the gaslights instead.

It is a language unto itself. And unfortunately that is just how they must speak on the front end. Everything they can do to calm investors.

Yes, exactly right. I’m sure they are working very hard behind the scenes to put everything right. The biggest trouble I see is the reliance on a streaming architecture when the practical evidence is showing that it is giving different experiences worldwide. That’s got to be difficult to solve without a very large investment in infrastructure

I will give them this, when they have good news, they can be almost too honest and detailed.

But when something bad happens, it is not their job to apologize or even admit to many mistakes.

Like they never acknowledged downgrading cloud detail in 2020 for SU5 in what was a pretty obvious fix to get MSFS finally running on Xbox.

I still don’t get why they added the 2020 addon before they opened the market place in 2024, this was only asking for trouble given most addon are not working in 2024, even the default aircraft from 2020 are not working that good.

I guess the extensive QA Testing did not show any issues. It musst be your system that is causing the problems.
You are one of the unlucky 0.001% of players having an issue.
It is a feature not a bug:

“Our servers and services are also all performing as expected.”

As others have said, this is a much better update from Jorg. At least now we have some idea of what is being done behind the scenes.

Just a guess, but it might be because of the ported default content from your 2020 edition.
Probably they could not automatically seperste default from 3rd party content and therefore had to activate all 2020 content to provide the default content.

I’m not having that experience. It is frustrating, being told pre launch how almost all addons will be there and just work. Now in reality it took over a week for most, not even all, of my add ons to port over. I’m sure is the case for most. I just got many airports to come over and it’s been fun to use them. Now they’re gonna temporarily turn it off. Details please? They didn’t say when they’d begin that and for how long. Is it to be inferred that begins now thru Dec 9th when enabling option goes live? How about the marketplace? When will we be able to buy new stuff.

Just this whole thing is a mess. What did they do this whole time since pre June 2023 when launch trailer revealed? Why is the norm to launch something that’s bad, over promise, and have to take months to fix and limit the experience & shown features being turned off or slow to launch. Afterall we paid full price for the item not knowing ahead of time how poor it would be at launch. We should all get some marketplace credit

I also don’t understand why updates from jorg or other, don’t pop up until late in the day. They post a preamble saying we’ll have one soon, but not until 8-12 hours later does something appear.

Welcome to corporate speak. So annoying.

Well I don’t have any map mods and my internet is super fast. Yet I still have to wait more than 5 minutes for the sim to load up and texture resolution is way lower than in 2020. On the other hand DEM seems to be a lot better so it’s not the case of something not loading in. And please give us the ability to download certain elements like planes, sometimes cockpits aren’t loading fully.

As far as I understand we will get the ability to download planes later in conjunction with the marketplace.
In the meantime you could try to find a 3rd Party plane that works for you. If this is stored in the community folder there should be no need for a download and the textures should load.
Maybe you did purchase something for MS2020 already you can use.
You might check with the creator if this plane works in his opinion.
