It seems absurd to me that this is still not fixed. Why bother implementing features like leaderboards if they are just going to get broken and never fixed?
This bug is definitely still happening - it seems like to varying degrees depending on the landing challenge.
For example:
- the new (NZ world update) Christchurch landing challenge seems to be working fine
- The (US world update) Skyline Idaho landing challenge never worked at all (nobody at all in the global leaderboard)
- The Bornholm Denmark leaderboard used to work, but no longer does (my score is recorded as an old one ~700k, but since I have gotten an A but the old score still shows - also my Dad who only started playing more recently has also gotten an A but he doesn’t show on the leaderboard at all)
This has got to be a relatively simple bug to fix but it has been ignored for years. I thought the idea of the upcoming SU was to fix these niggling issues but somehow they are still not being addressed.

Actually just worked out it isn’t quite as simple as I said above. I have noticed that as I have been doing the Christchurch challenge it is overwriting good scores with worse ones rather than just keeping your best score as the one on the leaderboard.

I also see a lot of suspect landing scores on the leaderboards.

I noticed this after the NZ update that some of the scores I had in previous challenges are reset to Zero. But the Grade is still ‘A’ or ‘B’, etc…
Even when I re-do the challenge the score is still showing Zero on some challenges and updated on other. Seems random.
I would like to have at least the new or old score show up with the Friends ranking info box since we have a healthy competition on which one of us can score the highest.
Hope they fix this.

I have the problem only in first two epic landing chanllenges, no matter how much pts you get, there is only 0 pts.
Just did a few landing challenges, sometimes score added, most of the time just did not add the score, even getting A over 1m score not added. pls fix MS Asobo

Same stories here. Here are the situations I’m facing with the landing challenges score:
- Score does not update and stays at 0.
- Score updates always, also if worse than previous attempt.
- A, B, C ranking is kept.
Siming in VR, but I think this should not affect this functionality.
I have the feeling that this could be linked to the “locals” config. I mean windows TZ, decimal and thousand separators …
And if they’ve been changed across time, that’s my case, this could affect challenges in different ways or not. I’ll verify this.
In my case, it’s a couple of days after changing from US-EN to FR-BE to test something that problems appeared.

I love how literally 2 and a half years after I initially asked this question, the problem still hasn’t been completely solved. Just wow. I never expected that this many people would have the same issue
