Is there any websites (besides navigraph) that I can use to help me fly my plane to the runway that the ATC assigned me?
I use skyvector and airnav for airport runway info, if I don’t want to use Foreflight for some reason.
Assuming you’re trying for a straight-in approach…? When in doubt, rely on the runway numbers being its rough magnetic heading divided by 10, and come at the airport on that heading. With any luck, you’ll see the runway before you’re too close to make a safe approach. Otherwise, overfly the airport a couple thousand feet high, then descend and enter the pattern for that runway. Ideally, you’d fly outbound a little, so you can enter the pattern on the recommended 45 degree angle.
Maybe some others can address your question more directly.
If you are playing on PC, download Little NavMap. It is free. You can connect it to your sim with a few clicks of your mouse and see a real time moving map display of where you are, somewhat like ForeFlight. (ForeFlight works in the sim but it is really for real world aviation and costs a pretty penny.)
You can do lots more in LittleNavMap too, like flight plans that you can import directly into MSFS, figure out which navaids are within range, etc.
You can also display standard IFR arrivals and approaches, and/or VFR patterns at most airports.
Navigraph offers a relatively economical subscription which gives you updated AIRAC cycles without the current charts. With this option Little Nav Map, SimBrief and MSFS can be kept in sync. You can then use other free options for charts. I use SkyVector.
I play on Xbox S that is connected to a tv, so can I connect my account to any of these websites?
I looked at skyvector & it looks pretty useful but I play on Xbox S & it’s connected to a tv not a pc so how do I connect my MSFS2020 account to it?
I’m sorry I don’t know much about xbox. Hopefully, someone else can jump in to help.
yeah no problem:)
