If you are playing on PC, download Little NavMap. It is free. You can connect it to your sim with a few clicks of your mouse and see a real time moving map display of where you are, somewhat like ForeFlight. (ForeFlight works in the sim but it is really for real world aviation and costs a pretty penny.)
You can do lots more in LittleNavMap too, like flight plans that you can import directly into MSFS, figure out which navaids are within range, etc.
You can also display standard IFR arrivals and approaches, and/or VFR patterns at most airports.
