It’s definitely related to speed/energy (and totally unrealistic to start doing quick aileron rolls on approach), but I am always well above stall speed (occurs with flaps on full or auto, haven’t tried half).
There is some sensitivity bug because when moving my joystick left or right in the sensitivity config page, the white dot will fall completely off the line, which should be impossible (it occurs near the deadzone boundary). However that bug does not cause any trouble with any other planes. Perhaps I should try removing the deadzones.
I still don’t understand why I cannot reproduce this aileron rolling behavior in the carrier landing challenge. I see that the AI checklist assist is enabled on the landing challenge, but in free flight mode I am doing everything manually. What am I missing?
