I guess you’ve checked your joystick calibration already. You have to monitor the stability for a while making small movements just to check whether there are spikes or not. If it does spike strange things happen. A brief full impulse to either side means full aileron deflection for a tenth of a second, hardly noticable in a GA aircraft but sensitive aircraft such as the F-18 is a different story. This should also happen in the landing challenge though, kinda odd.
