Landing the F-18

Not quite. its not a “drifting” as if you need to adjust a deadzone to compensate for an over sensitive stick when centered or if the centered stick proper results in an off center position in the throw range. Its more like you roll from base to final, 180 knots, try to roll out on centerline and right as you roll wings level it decides it suddenly wants to give more input and keep rolling past level, you throw the stick to the left to compensate and it just keeps rolling. Its a bit like fighting an autopilot. To comment on another posters reply as well, it actually does feel like an airbus in a way in level flight at altitude. Trim is irrelevant sometimes. It stays where you point it and adjusting trim does not change the attitude. however occasionally it seems to want to just f-ck off and fly itself wherever, although this tends to only happen on slower approaches. 180 ish. You end up having to fight the aircraft to get it under control. Though its not like trying to get control of an aircraft that has become out of control due to a stall or spin, its more like fighting to get control of an aircraft where someone else has the stick and is trying to fly it at the same time. It’s really bizarre.
