I was having a play with the weather in an area I visited ages ago (October 2012) and noticed that you could apply historical dates. So I grabbed a shot from my archive that I’d geotagged at the time and tried to replicate it. From the video in the link- https://twitter.com/nezza/status/1307807888556130305?s=20 you can see that I was stunned that the light falloff from the breaks in clouds actually did mirror what I saw that day.
Just to see how close I could really get it, I dropped a screenshot into Lightroom and synchronised the edits of the original shot to apply to the screenshot. Yes the clouds aren’t identical, but I’m taken aback how close the two are.
