The best you can do is make a backup of the folder that contains both the Official and Community folders. Community isn’t quite as important, as you can easily re-download community mods and addons at will, but that Official folder is.
Personally, I keep those on a secondary drive (D:\MSFS). If I have to reinstall the main app, I will just point to that folder when it asks where to download the new data to. If my data is up to date, then nothing will happen. It will just continue loading. If the data is out of date, it will just do the differential download if required (like newer patches).
