Latest Update causes game to not Launch

I have tried moving the community folder/removing mods and the result is the same; The initial msfs launcher window appears and then disappears - no launch, nothing in the task manager after this happens.

This is the 4th or 5th update in a row where this has happened and the only solution was to perform a full reinstall. I am using the windows store version. I would prefer to not have to reinstall yet again as it takes many hours. Does anyone know of a solution?

Exact same issue here, it’s so irritating. I have a modern PC built within the last year, all up-to-date and with the latest stable Windows 11 yet Microsoft’s own game doesn’t even work and this has happened before recently in less than 10 launches of the sim.

I posted here, you may wish to post in it too and vote it up. Thanks

same issue. Has to do with ā€˜gaming services’. I tried for 2 days, gave up and did a Windows reset (not a complete re-installation of Windows) and a re-install of Msfs (now at 50%) and of course followed by the addons… sigh…

Are you guys getting the following?

Faulting application name: FlightSimulator.exe, version: 1.31.22.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
Faulting module name: FlightSimulator.exe, version: 1.31.22.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
Exception code: 0xc000001d
Fault offset: 0x000000000d80c2c6
Faulting process ID: 0x0x3D64

From dump file: Illegal instruction - code c000001d (first/second chance not available)

I get no errors that I can see. I’ll get gamingservicesUI.exe then it closes and nothing further.

I didn’t see any visible errors. I got the splash screen, sync message and then the splash screen would disappear. Microsoft Flightsimulator.exe was visible in taskmanager and the mem usuage would go up to about 12 MB and then it would disappear completely from the list…
But as said, a reset of Windows + re-install of MSFS solved it sofar. Just haven’t been able to test any flying yet (VR…). Will also delete/reinstall debloated nvidia driver and delete all shaderchaches etc to be on the safe side.

Getting the same error ā€œFaulting application name: FlightSimulator.exe, version: 1.31.22.0, time stamp: 0x00000000ā€. I have to kill the lockapp.exe process in order to restart the simulator. Hope the new fix will be out soon.

Exactly same problem, after launch the game at 3/4 loading, the game is closed, I have reinstaled the game twice and still closing the game, just one time I saw the option menu but I did not have time eve a select anything.

Hi, I think I have the same problem. When launching MFS the window is closing as the progress bar is about 75%. Version 1.31.22.0, on PC, Xbox app is up to date. My latest flight on 1 april was OK, may be this version of MFS came at this moment. I don’t know what to do. I hope it won’t be necessary to reinstall all the game :frowning:

Next release version arriving on April 25th ? I hope it will fix the problem.

Same here. MSFS crashes at appr 75 % in the load screen. Has anyone found a solution?

Did a complete re-install (4 hours or so download grrr, not yet installed the add-ons even) and exact same issue. Will not load…

Win 11 Security Update KB5025239 After installing the update, an infinite loop is generated when MSFS 2020 is started with the text: ā€œData is being synchronizedā€¦ā€. If the security update is uninstalled, everything runs without problems.

It’s Happened again.

Just as before the game is now broken. How many more months and updates will it take before this issue gets the attention it deserves? Very frustrating.

Hi. I have to say it’s working normally again in my computer. I didn’t do many things. First of all, may be the bug came with a probleme in Xbox bar : there was something missy when trying to have a screenshot during a flight. After this bug, it was not possible to play again. I went to Microsoft Store and accepted all updates of Xbox software. Then, it was not enough, because the MFS continued to crash during loading. I waited for the new MFS update on 25th April. I installed this monthly update, automaticaly. And fortunately the game launched correctly as it was before. I hope this helps

15 days later still the same issue… Haven’t touched the game in 2 months and now it doesn’t launch at all… Tries to go into fullscreen then crash to desktop without any error message -_- ā– ā– ā–  this is unacceptable… And reinstalling not only takes hours but also kills your ssd… This is too much data to rewrite to your ssd for no reason…

Hi, yes it’s crashing again when loading the game. :unamused: I really don’t know why. I’ve been playing sometimes normaly before. Strange and disapointing.

Thinking about the RAM ? May be 8 GB is not enough now, because the game requires more power ?

Do you by any chance have a 12th/13th gen cpu and you have disabled your e-cores?

No, I’ve got a AMD 5800X3D, but thanks.

In fact, this game was one of the reasons I purchased this CPU…

i see… My issue was that i had disabled my e-cores… Weird huh? Did you change anything hardware-wise lately?
