I think the thing here is their MD-82 comes already with the retrofit EFIS panel, unlike like the original -81, -82, and -83 which had round dials. So the MD-88 expansion doesn’t sound too appealing (at least to me), because you already have the more modern gauges, you’re just getting the extra fuel tanks and corresponding switches for the most part.
