Let me place all the covers and such back in when I complete my flight in free and career modes.

I don’t want anything getting in my engine or my pitot getting cold (shrinkage!). Can’t have my plane roll away, where did I put those chocks?

Would be nice to be able to walk around your aircraft in the hangar, and even potentially control maintenance in a more visual way than the current UI.

In real life, it’s just as nice to put the aircraft “to bed” as it is to take it out for flight. Perhaps this can be optional in terms of mission rating, but it would be cool to end up back in the hangar in first person and put the engine plugs and pitot covers back on.

As long as this would be an optional feature, at least in free flight, I’d say that would be a good addition.

It may even have already been in the works, but I’d expect that MS/Asobo will have a mighty long list of development work that they’ll need to do first.

So, is it confirmed that right now it isn’t possible place the covers after shutdown?

Yes, I completely agree that it should be optional, and not affect a mission’s outcome. Like with the skip function, perhaps there could be a bonus for doing it, but there should definitely be no penalty for skipping it.

I’m career mode, the menus pop up as soon as the engine is off not before shutdown is complete so definitely not there.

In free flight, I haven’t found a way to do it, the click spots aren’t active.

Cant understand how Asobo didnt think of this

I think they just assumed we weren’t as all as massively nerdy as we are. We don’t deserve that much credit.

Why Asobo you let us remove the engine covers and not let us put them back on again ??

It’s just that the click spots are missing,
with scripts it’s possible to add the covers and chocks

The best would be to add (or not remove) click spots like the pins
for the checks to allow adding the items back

The default TBM 930 allows you to click them all on and off and also keep all the doors open. Not yet found any others that do, but not tested many.
