As has been reported, this patch has broken a lot of things. The thing that matters the most to me personally is the A320’s left engine shutting down after turning off the APU. This was the only airliner I flew, because it was the only one that it was possible to fly even vaguely realistically. And now I can’t do that.
Much as I have rolled my eyes at people talking about how “TOTALLY UNFLYABLE” this sim is… this patch has made at least one aircraft exactly that.
We should not have to wait another month for another patch to fix this So, Microsoft, I really think you need to give us a mechanism to roll back to the previous version in the meantime.
“Some temporary fixes for the known engine #1 bug: you can either leave APU master switch on after starting engines and turn off the left fuel pumps AND turn on fuel x-feed” – Taken from FlyByWire A32NX development team’s discord http://www.flybywiresim.com/about
Thanks for this tip. I’ve calmed down a bit now. I still find it incredible that this bug was allowed to slip through when it would only have taken the most rudimentary of testing to spot it (I mean surely, as a minimum, somebody should fly the aircraft they’ve modified before releasing a patch?) but at least there’s a workaround and I can continue flying the A320 until it’s resolved.
