I recently bought MSFS 2024 on Steam after being a Game Pass user for a few months. Everything has gone well with the transition, but every time I launch the sim, I have to sign in again. Is there any fix for this? I have the Xbox app set to open with system boot to tray.
Hi @ItsRadeRC
Whilst not all of these troubleshooting steps may be relevant if you are on Steam, I highly recommend reading through our MSFS Zendesk Help Portal article on Xbox Live Sign-In Issues: How to fix Xbox Live Sign-In issues – Microsoft Flight Simulator Support
Thanks

I have no problems signing in, but I have to sign in with every launch. When I close the sim I am signed out. It isn’t a huge problem, but it is an inconvenience to have to redo with each launch.
I too have switched from Game Pass to Steam and am having this issue. Whilst it’s not game breaking, it is irritating to have to type in my credentials every time I launch the sim.
Also, if I restart the sim after having logged in, it says that I am logged in on another device and need to log in here instead.
Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Did you try logging out and then back in to the Xbox App on your PC?
This often cures it.
If it is still exhibiting this behaviour after that, you could try uninstalling the Xbox App, rebooting then reinstalling it.
I have tried both methods that you suggested, and it still asks for login details whenever I launch the sim.
I have even tried launching it without the Xbox App on my PC at all, and it still asks me to log in when I launch it through steam.
This article may be some help, I believe this may be the error message you are getting.
Also check your Steam settings for Cloud storage. I personally disable Steam Cloud, but you could toggle it off, launch the game and sign in, then toggle it back, or vice versa.
Disabling Steam Cloud and logging in has done the trick. I re-enabled Steam Cloud afterwards and it is no longer asking me to log in.
Thank you!
