As a devout and avid lifelong Microsoft flight simulator fan, I can tell you that initial bugs are not uncommon. So, everybody relax and stop posting hateful topics that don’t help at all.The sim is amazing, and the visuals are stunning. Yes, setting up the views that you’re used to can be frustrating. But like everything else, with a little bit of patience, you can make it happen. And yes, the default airliners leave a lot to be desired. But that was to be expected, as we wait for the Premier third-party developers like PMDG, Quality Wings, and FSLabs to release their aircraft for flight simulator 2020. In the meantime I will make do. So thank you Microsoft, Asobo, Bing and Blackshark. And to the third party developers, please hurry.
Tripwire…people have paid good money (I am thankfully not one yet) , don’t you think they are entitled to a product that lives up to the release advertising…or did I miss the point where it stated…“This Simulator is full of bugs, we require you to be our beta testers until we can figure out all the issues”. I do intend to buy it, but no way yet. In the meantime, don’t you think that customers are allowed to voice their concerns and frustrations? It sounds like many of them are talking from their hearts. I for one, believe that this product has been rushed to the market. Just my humble opinion.
Not supporting multiple monitors or Logitech radio panels aren’t bugs. Those are missing features with no timeline for implementation. At least they (eventually) gave a timeline for VR.
True. However, like in e-v-e-r-y conflict (here between the customers and the seller), what getting people angry is lack of communication. You ■■■■ 100% right when you say “calm down, it’s day one, it’s perfectly normal to encounting bugs”, but they’d really calm down the game by publishing they know and a scheduled roadmap with every bugs reports they’ll take care off (it had been tested for months, so final customers hoped to have a FINISHED product, not being a sort of “gamma testers”). Also, the release has been a bad MESS, with all these downloading/installing issues ! Obviously they’ve rushed it, they weren’t ready.
Anger is normal, regarding to the way they’ve rushed the release
(all they have to do to calm down people is communicate)
This product has a long way to go way beyond day one.
We don’t even have something that can live up to day one hype.
Other then the scenery if you try using any aircraft many are missing some basic functionality. Sadly many of these problems have been known about for months and it was released way to early.
If you seen how this was on tech alpha build 1 this sim has come a long way in a short amount of time and you can spend millions paying a ton of engineers to build scenarios to address potential conflicts or you can just release it to the paying public and you will find bugs you didn’t even know was possible. Microsoft has done this with every products including windows. So many bugs with the OS. They work to fix them and it will always be a work in progress but ■■■■■■ this sim has amazing potential and just give the 3rd parties time and you will be blown away
I 100% disagree with you on this. I hear a lot of people saying “just wait for the pmdg’s to be released” but that’s a totally useless and (forgive me) stupid thing to say.
Yes, for the hardcore flight simmer the pmdg aircraft are great. But don’t forget about the casual simmer that just want to enjoi the immersion of flying a jet. For them pmdg’s are really over the top and not worth their money.
Those people (including me) have paid 120 euros to be able to get that immersion, but it turns out to be completely broken. These are not just bugs. The aircraft don’t fly anywhere close to how they should and a lot of the basic systems are confusing or just not working. In fsx/xp11/prepar3d(with non study level addons) it’s not so hard to take off, fly a flightplan and land a ils approach and touch down softly. For some reason in msfs it is almost impossible.
So good for you you’re willing to spend money on a broken base platform so you can spend some more money on pmdg aircraft. But i bet there’s waaaay more people just wanting to enjoi the sim then that there are hardcore simmers with money to buy all the other stuff.
I disagree with the lack of communication. I have never, ever, seen as much communication as MS/Asobo did weekly on the Flightsimulator webpage and in the Insider Area.
This Sim has a lot of potential and my two cents, they just wanted those who already want to fly, give them what they want. Those who want more features can just wait like it wasn’t published yet.
And to others about the ‘hype’: You set your own expectations. If you fall yourself into the trap of a hype, be angry at yourself.
I got what I wanted: A new platform with a lot of potential. The bugs I gladly take instead of waiting another 6 months
Since when did we want broken aircraft? And from where did you get “they just wanted those who already want to fly, give them what they want”
They never said: Yeah it’s full of bugs and the airliners are broken. BUT for those who want it allready, here you are. The rest can wait.
“My two cents” implies a personal opinion, which can be a guess, assumption, …
Nobody wants broken aircraft, but many want early access and happily take the consequences. It’s not that waiting time gets longer for those who don’t want that.
Cannot Agree more, bought FS from 5.0 and yes this one is not perfect but i still conisder it as a major upgrade compare to the existing, i switch to P3D last year but for sure with a team that follow the product (which was not the case with FSX), this will rock…
First of all, it’s not early acces. Second of all, you don’t know what your buying before you actually bought it. I respect your opinion. But lot’s of people bought it on day one because they never thought that it will be this bad. So no matter what your opinion is, it’s a very good reason to complain.
Edit: if it woud be how you’re saying it is, microsoft should offer it as early acces and unfinished product. Wich they don’t
You’re right, but they already showed some roadmap of implementations and ongoing issues on their website. Also, when you spend 120$/EUR, and you’re not so sure, you can wait a day after release, check the reactions and purchase if it lives up to your expectations as from that moment.
Edit: yeah Early Access would have been the best way to publish the current sim
Well, a vague timeline anyway.
glad we agree on that. I was in alpha and beta so i knew it was bad allready. But hearing the fixes they told us for the autopilot, and reading from alot of people on day one that it improved alot. i figured i just buy it and see for myself. I was gonna buy in anyway because i always loved msfs. Still i think they should have/could have done a better job. And also i don’t only speak for myself cause i’m sure there’s alot of people just like me wanting a nice flying experience without to much hassle. And at this moment the default aircraft aren’t good enough for that unfortunately.
They sell it at a price where things should atleast work as intended. Further improvements should be small bugs and additinal features in my opinion.
I agree. Complaining doesn’t let you play the game now. If we’d waited for it to be perfect we’d be playing this game in 2022-2024 timeframe.
The fact people defend this garbage is astounding.
We weren’t sold a beta we were sold a complete game. In my case a “premium deluxe” version of that “complete” game.
I’m not discussing alpha/beta information which is still under NDA.
Here is the public feedback snapshot on August 13th where they clearly state what was in progress or still on the wish list: https://msfs-cdn.azureedge.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/FS-v8.01v2.jpg
.
If you wanted to know if there would still be Autopilot bugs for example, it states ‘In Progress’ and not ‘Done’.
These are top ALPHA issues. These don’t reference BETA, RC, or Release expectations or issues. People are not going to refer to ALPHA issues to gauge the state of the release. Again, a disconnect in communications and how those communications would be interpreted.
