How often do the lido charts get updated. I believe I once read that they are updated every 28 days with the airac cycle. I was flying from EDDK last night and the charts had a date of somewhere around april 2026. Those charts were not current anymore, since the WYP vor has since been taken out of operation.
The charts aren’t all from the same date either. Different airports can have chart effectivity dates that are months apart from each other. How often are these updated?
Pretty sure charts are updated with every airac cycle, and that they by design aren’t updated, unless there is something to update (navaids/procedure). Effective date is for the chart not to be used before that date , but isn’t an “expiry tag”
I thought so as well, but some of the eddk charts aren’t unfortunately. Did I miss an update then? I use navigraph navdata, does that cause the charts not to update?
Hi @ErikAviation
Having a subscription to Navigraph has no bearing at all on when the default LIDO charts are updated. I’ll try to get some more clarifying information on this, but I’d imagine that the charts are updated automatically alongside the latest AIRAC cycle, which happens every 28 days.
Without another LIDO source to verify against, I’m unable to check to see if there are more recent chart updates for EDDK after April 2026.
“Effective date” on top left of charts. Shows when chart is updated and become effective.
Effective 09 Jul 26 tells charts is updated in AIRAC cycle 2607 which went effective on 09 Jul. If the chart didn’t get updated in next AIRAC cycles date will stay as last update. This doesn’t mean chart is expired.
Also you can see changes made on charts on down left and LIDO releases changes they made here
@ErikAviation I’ve had confirmation that the LIDO charts included as default for MSFS 2024 are indeed kept up to date as per the real world AIRAC cycle every 28 days. The charts you must be looking at, which show an effective date of April will not have been updated by LIDO since that time. If you look for example at other charts, such as the RNAV STARs RWY 06 as @denizberktaf1 kindly posted, they were updated on July 30th. There’s even more recent charts, such as the AGC, which was updated on the 20th August.
Hope this helps!

I used to use LIDO charts with the old NavDataPro from Aerosoft, and now in 2024. WT has said they get a full set of the most current charts LIDO has with every AIRAC update, and that tracks with what Aerosoft used to do back in the day.
Just as with other chart providers (national charts, Jeppesen), not every chart gets changed every cycle. Most charts stay navigationally valid for a long time. Of course, every once in a donkey’s years a chart provider will have some errata on a chart. Next AIRAC is around the corner so if it persists you can always report the specific chart with the error so it can be forwarded to LIDO, I would imagine.
They’re the exact same charts they hand to pilots on the line.
Hi chewwy. Thanks for going into this. Very helpfull information. So just to confirm, even if navigraph airac data is used, this does not affect the charts updates?
Navigraph is a completely separate entity, and has no bearing on any of the default provided AIRAC cycle data or charts, which are provided for free for all MSFS 2024 users.
I don’t understand why the forums alerted me that this topic was solved. I never even saw this topic much less subscribe to it.
I mean, i’ve marked an answer as a solution and have got adequate informtion to my question thanks to other forum members and community managers
