More lights on the sea at night (from ships, boats, drilling platforms, lighthouses, buoys, …,)
Especially on busy waterways and close to ports should be plenty of them.

Why is this such a low requested feature? is there another more current thread for this?
As there a more and more boats available in MSFS it would be really cool if accurate nautical lights could be added to MSFS. These have specific identifying light patterns ( Light characteristic - Wikipedia) that would be quite easy to program.
The necessary data is also available (e.g. from https://map.openseamap.org/)
Pros:
- you could use MSFS to properly practice real-world nautical navigation using. Skills that you need on a yacht in real life.
- coastal regions would look way more realistic (e.g. the German Bight ist full of nautical lights that are also visible from the air)
I actually think that MSFS has the potential to be an absolutely spectacular an realistic boating and yachting simulation with actual real-life value. Add depth data, currents and you’re halfway there.
