I have the dev options turned on and also showing fps on screen. The problem is that I cannot read what it says! Is it a G or a C?? Am I limited bu GPU or CPU? According to the fps and cpu data in the WinKey+G output pane my CPU is at 58% and the CPU at 97% so I would say I’m GPU limited so is it a G I see in the screen shot below? The font is so pixelated.
Limited by GPU!
Thanks, I’m just waiting for new GPU’s to be released
Sorry, if I overlooked something, but which CPU and GPU (graphics card) are you running it with?
CPU I7 6700
GPU GTX 980 Ti
The PC is five years old.
How do you turn the dev option on?
program in options/general
We will see if NVIDIA will deliver to a competitive price. If their 3080 or whatever its name will be is more expensive than the new Xbox and there is no big difference in performance I think an Xbox is a realistic alternative.
Hey, thank you for the information!
I’ve noticed this MainThread also, and I have no idea. I’d love to see someone explain it.
mainthread is CPU as far as i know
Yep, this is a CPU limitation.
The problem is i get limited by main thread but my cpu is working at 70% or less on cockpit and big handcrafted airports and i having less than 27 fps in those areas
i found out that terrain lod is the big fps killer, it increases the radius and there is a lot of stuff to render, for lower/mid cpu’s that is just too much.
test it yourselfe, set everything as low as possible, but keep the normal render and resolution and set the terrain lod to 100 , after that set high or Ultra Settings and lower the terrain lod to 50 for example, you could have better fps on that Ultra setting, at least thats how it works on my end.
the sad part about it, you have to deal with lower quality in the distance
Mainthread is the main game logic thread (on CPU)
RenderThread is the game rendering thread (on CPU)

For a more complete analysis on settings
I was running many testing scenarios on my pc yesterday, and from what MY system was doing it appears on ultra it was using:
17G physical Ram (out of 64G)
7G of GPU Ram (out of 8G)
30% of CPU (there does, however, appear to be CPU spiking)
Avg was between 50-60 FPS ultra, not much difference on lower settings. Of course it dropped down in the 30-35 FPS range in NYC.
Seems to me the code is just poorly optimized, which seems to be the general consensus. The CPU spikes seem odd. Even on medium settings, it was eating 5G of the GPU.
Aorus Ultra Z390
Pentium 9900
64G RAM
RTX-2080
2TB M.2 hard drive
(2) 2TB additional SSD
1G Xfinity connection
IT will be more expensive then the Xbox.
3080TI is currently set 1400.00+ but won’t be at initial launch
3080 regular starts at 799.00+
3070 599.99
Better off waiting until they make a 3080 super.
The 70% is your Overall utilisation I’m willing to bet atleast 1 of your cores is hitting 100%.
