One word:
“Headroom”
Assuming you’re toodling along, flipping between GPU and Main with both maxed out. Then you hit some complex scenery, a big city, or you’re landing with close-up views of complex terrain where you’re going to need some reserve capacity.
Where does it come from if you’re already maxed-out?
IMHO, that’s a recipe for disaster.
