You are right! My fps are also better with 577. Ca 20fps more native. I dont know if this was also the main problem before. But now with 577 is really fine. I have native now with all maxed out settings inclusive Lod at maximum and 4k always 60fps+. That was before 40fps+. And with the bug ?? at the beginning the thread 25fps+.
Iām experiencing the same MainThread limitation issue and wanted to share my troubleshooting journey and current symptoms. Despite trying multiple fixes, Iām still stuck with poor performance.

Symptoms: Running dev mode FPS counter shows:

MainThread: 19.4 ms (consistent bottleneck)

Manipulators: 7.1 ms

CoherentGTUI: 5.7 ms

These two alone consume 12.8 ms (66% of total MainThread time)

MarkersFailed: 50

CPU usage ~41% distributed across all cores (no single core pinned at 100%)
The issue occurs:

Even in the main menu (60 fps locked but ālimited by mainthreadā)

In Free Flight and Career Mode

With multiple default aircraft (PC-12, Cessna 172/152, Eurocopter)

In remote locations with minimal scenery load

Changing graphics settings from Ultra to Low makes zero difference (still ~42 fps)
What Iāve tried:

Current Status: With AI Traffic disabled, I can barely maintain 60 fps, but itās unstable. The high Manipulators and CoherentGTUI times persist regardless of settings. The fact that graphics settings changes have zero impact strongly suggests this is a MainThread/CPU-side bug rather than a configuration issue.
Has anyone found new solutions post-SU5? Are the elevated Manipulators + CoherentGTUI times a known bug that Asobo is addressing? Any other suspects I should investigate?
You might try Max FPS 40 in the Sim Settings, with Vsync OFF.
The Mainthread is not reporting correctly. If you watch the Mainthread right at the start, you will see it reporting 8ms frames then it goes up to 20ms frames. I believe whatās happening here is that the frames are queuing up, and the frame times are counting from the time entering the queue to the time exiting the queue. My advice: ignore the Mainthread timings. Is it smooth? If Yes, turn off the FPS counter.
No it is not unfortunately. This is why I responded to the topic. What I did now is completely deactivate any traffic and it runs much smoother, but that actually is not a viable solution for meā¦
