So one thing that struck me yesterday when trying to configure my equipment was how limited my options were. I am using keyboard, mouse, Honeycomb Alpha Flight and Thrustmaster T-Flight pedals.
So first thing i wanted to do was map the throttle to the middle mouse wheel. There is no option for it because those options are only available under “keyboard”. Then i wanted to map landing gear to any of the buttons on my yoke. Same thing there. I’m probably missing something obvious here but i want to be able to map any button/switch to what ever function i want to. Not have them limited to one type of controller.
Another thing is that the brakes are by default mapped to the numpad. Guess what… my keyboard has no numpad since it’s a compact version. So there was a whole lot of extra mapping required which is fine i guess, but i got angry about the fact that they assume everyone has one type of keyboard.
Anyway… point of all this is that it seems somewhat limited if you can only map, for example, the parking brake to the keyboard since the option “parking brake” is not available under the yoke settings. So please make any type of function available under all controller types, like keyboard, mouse, yoke and so on.
The throttle is an axis. However, middle mouse may be just two simple switches. Assign one switch to throttle up and one to throttle down. Wont have much control though!
All other mappings should work. I have gear on joystick. Options are endless.
I think you may be filtering the options by what has been “Assigned”. When you select the Yoke controller, look on the left side of the page and change “Assigned” to “All” or “Essential”. The KB appears to have a lot of options because there ar a lot of assignments by default.

Ok thanks… will look into this after work.
You first select the device you want to assign a button from, then you change the filter from “assigned” (this only shows functions currently assigned on the device) to “all”. Now you see all functions and now you can look for the one you want to assign a button to.
Now it shouldn’t be a problem because you can assign any button to any function you want.

I’m disappointed in the key mappings as well. Trying to setup my throttle quad with the parking brakes, lights and autopilot just to find out you cant.
what exactly cant you do? I’ve been able to setup all my controls, saitek yoke, throttle and rudder
You guys really need to look around first before you start complaining.
