LIttleNavMap on Remote PC not working , Yes I followed the directions

So I have LNM running just fine on my PC that I have FS instaleld on and thats cool .
But I want to be able to use it on my laptop in realtime.. I have followed the instructions for this from the website and searched other forums for answersbut have found none.

I am wondering if anyone else here has tried to run it remotely on another device with or without success..

can you please reproduce the steps you made?

Install LNM on both machines. Run LNM on the machine running MSFS and build de database. Then share the folder with the database so you can copy it from the network.

Install then LNM_Connect on the machine running MSFS and forget about LNM forever.

Open the non-MSFS machine, copy the database from the shared folder to your non-MSFS LNM folder (the appropriate folder, not the root of the program). Then start up LNM on the non-MSFS machine, open the database and the program will recognize it as a MSFS database.

Then open MSFS, open LNM_connect on the MSFS machine, copy the IP+Port and connect your non-MSFS LNM machine to the said IP.

With you untill the last step.. I did try the IP but did not change port as it has a default value listed in the connection window for the remote And so I figured thats the correct port? hmmm guess i’ll double check and see what ports it uses on the FS2020 installed PC and see if its different..

Are you currently running LNM on a remote system ?

Yah the port shown in my image is the default port , so Ive been there done that..

I Ve also screwed around with firewall settings and network discovery so I dunno..

Yeah, same port here. And yes, I am running LNM remotely.
I would try closing Malwarebytes, closing the red icon to the right of it too if it is an antivirus or related (on the system try), and disable everything in windows defender just momentarily.
If you have virtualbox installed, make sure you are typing the correct IP for your PC. what is your LAN IP?
Mine says (Virtual box installed) “192.168.0.20, 172.31.192.1, 172.26.80.1) Port 51968.” My real IP is 192.168.0.20.

Check to be certain all of your software is on the “same page.” For me, it turned out that some things were set to “Private” and others to “Public.” It’s a firewall thing. Once you deal with that I’d bet money your problem is solved…

Well I opened LNM connect on the remote PC and I do get a dialog saying that it is connected and listeneng to my desktop , not connected to simulator…waiting..

So I dunno

I have LNM running on a separate system and it all runs fine.
The only thing I can think of that I don’t think has yet been mentioned is to confirm that you have the correct version of Simconnect installed. It’s mentioned in the manual somewhere.

Hope you get it sorted.

yah I got the remote to say connected , however it is not synced with the flying PC and shows an entirely different location

It’s Simconnect version 10.0.61259.0
I Googled it for the link.

hmm ook ill check, I just downloaded the lastes edition of lnm from the website the beta release so whatever is in it is what i installed… but ill check the version anyways, thanks for your help this is frustrating as hell Ive spent along time today trying to figure out this ■■■■ thing.

Simconnect is a separate, small program that you install into windows like you would any other program.
Once installed it [in the background] allows MSFS 2020 to ‘talk’ to LNM.

this is the connect file i installed on both

ohhh hmmm that may be it

Simconnect only needs to be installed onto the computer where the sim is installed.

msfs is talking to the LNM installed on the same machine but the remote LNM is connected to network but not getting any info from msfs i guess., where is this simconnect file ? would it have been in the beta zip file ? all i find so far is a simconnect .dll file but not an exe.

Give me a minute. I will try to find the link I used.

awesome thanks

something simconnect was included in the beta zip so I dunno

Here it is:
