The issue is : from the moment Live weather is activated from option screen (before flight), Live weather will work only on the next flight. For all following flights, Live Weather will be NOK, even by using workaround.
So : clear sky is ALWAYS setup on option screen and ALWAYS choose Live weather from toolbar during flight. NEVER activate Live Weather on option screen
The ALWAYS and NEVER are important. I made mistake by omiting this.

Thanks for making that clear. I should have included that in my Instructions. Maybe that’s why some have said it does not work.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get this to work, but one thing I noticed is that ATIS does work, as it represents the real weather.

Even after the latest update you still have to use the workaround otherwise once you go back to menu after flight the next flight will load with wrong weather, just glad that this still works.
Yep, still the same, but It’s fine like this while it’s still working.
Just has the best rain effects I’ve seen in this sim since day 1. Took off in my Cessna Caravan from London City airport, the rain was torrential until I got above the clouds at about 4500 feet.
Was just like the pre release trailers with rivulets of water streaming up the screen.
Not sure if they were supposed to have adjusted anything in the rain effects in this update but seems good to me so far 
Was there rain external to the aircraft too? Could you see rain when in the external camera? Up until now live weather had no real depiction of actual rain. Only some light windows effects, that’s all.
I was hoping this ‘live snow’ update would be an update the the entire precipitation depiction system, and rain improvements would be noticed as well.
Looks like the procedure works just that it takes few seconds for the live weather to be displayed, it used to display immediately. Thanks for the recommendations

Can’t say I’ve ever looked from an external camera, I prefer to be in the cockpit otherwise it feels like an arcade game to me.
I’ve certainly seen rain falling from outside the window though, not just droplet effects on the glass.

This works every time for me. Thanks for the work around. Now I hope Asobo has a better understanding of the problem with Live Weather and fix it permanently for all of us!!
I doubt it. They’ve claimed the problem is fixed and since then, any time someone bring it up to Asobo, we get redirected to the same solution our friendly community manager up above in this thread points us to. It works for them, so it’s assumed to be user error.
Please vote for this bug to be fixed at the link below. Asobo seem unaware that this is even an issue. If it’s to get fixed, we need visibility. File ZenDesk tickets as well.

Even light rain shows up, RVR 500m even properly displayed, live weather is very good (and annoying when doing a vfr flight 
)
But how CAN it be user error?
It’s not like the player has to calculate altitude density or something to get it to work.
I think it is due to cultural smugness of the developing company.
The “it works for me so you must be doing something wrong” attitude is strong on this forum in general. It’s not just devs.
The reason it doesn’t work for some (I was one of them) is the original post failed to mention that you must do the workaround BEFORE your first flight. If you use live weather on your first flight THEN try this workaround, it doesn’t work.
I can confirm, that using clear weather initially and changing it to live weather once the flight is loaded solves the issue. Even the snow coverage loads up nicely. Sometimes it can take up to 15 seconds to load, but it works. Without it, I only had live weather on the first flight.

I agree. The live weather only works for the first flight! Can’t believe they still haven’t fixed this!
