Hello, I have been with you for a few months (alpha, beta) … if you are serious about the matter, then finally take care of the real weather, because since I deal with this product it still does not work as it should. See on your own forum how many posts there are about the fact that the real weather is not working as it should. In particular, the wind data is completely out of space, the meteoblue data is veeery inaccurate, why don’t you use airport METAR !!! these are the most accurate data and are updated very often. - Stop relying on METEOBLUE - I don’t even use it in everyday life because their forecasts are hopeless and very imprecise. And don’t answer that it works etc because it DOES NOT WORK!
This is simulator and live weather aspects should have priority from others.. Regards Martin
I’ve found the live weather pretty accurate so far, in the UK at least. Haven’t done much flying outside of that area yet, so time will tell. I think this should have been spot on, globally at launch, but if it’s not I’m sure they’ll get there.
I you sure that winds are correct? Did you check it with real weather data… I don`t think so…
The wind is broken in Australia.
simple - this is metar from about 1 hour for epgd TAF: EPGD 210530Z 2106/2206 12008KT CAVOK BECMG 2106/2109 18010KT
now in FS - wind 270 - 2 KT
DIRECTION AND SPEED WRONG, temperature as well, and so…
please paste your metars and live weather below, maybe somone in MS and Asobo finaly notice it
Such opposites also really disqualify using msfs for online flying (vatsim / ivao) since pilots there will literally be flying opposite approaches to account for the wind component.
I don’t think such aggressive and defamatory posts help anybody. There are other and better ways to report issues. Think about it.
aggressive?? I`m far from that… really, just want to make it clear and loud.

The G1000 nexrad is fairly accurate with showing where precipitation should be in real life. I was impressed with that even though it doesn’t look anything like it should. The problem is you could be flying through major thunderstorm on your MFD but only see a small cloud looking out your windscreen.
I have found that clouds and precip are pretty decent. Wind is always 225/3 no matter location or altitude. Occasionally it will rise to 9kts if you fly over a ridge or something but that’s all.
Is that true? We aren’t getting weather straight from the Latest official METAR at each field? How is that not happening? The METAR are published everywhere online. What about winds aloft? Multiple sources show those online.
I too have found the weather completely wrong. Visibility showing 3NM in FS, yet I look outside and at the METAR and it’s CAVOK more than 10NM
yes it is sad true - We are not getting weather data from METARS, and it should be change!
Meteoblue is the weakest link in this simulator…
this cannot be so, we must force Microsoft to better control the real weather, based on current online data from airport metars
Most likely some contract between the two that we are going to be stuck with for a long time
Wind is broken in north america the wind is stuck at 3 knots this sux please fix it the clouds are as they should be just the wind missing i flew into the hurricane off the baja penensula winds 3 knots
The good news is that this can be fixed, because it works just fine on the meteoblue website. I do hope for some sort of METAR combination. Because otherwise, as I said before, there will probably be online issues with the big networks.
I can’t guarantee this will work for everyone, but I was able to fix this somewhat by running FlightSimulator.exe as administrator (Right-click on the .EXE, select “Run as Administrator”). It only works for the first flight after you start the sim, and if you go back to the main menu and choose a different airport, the Live Weather stops working again. If I exit the sim completely, and run it again (as admin) the Live Weather comes back for the first flight. I can reproduce this behavior every single time, so I would guess it’s some kind of permissions issue, but I can’t figure out what or why. I’ve already reported it on the Zendesk page, twice.
To be honest, Meteoblue is a major upcoming player in the aviation weather services industry. We utilize WSI at my airline which is the most prominent figure in the industry and even then I have seen erroneous forecasts. A modern forecast is a prediction based on both manual and computer data interpretation of MANY weather factors. I’ve found the winds aloft to be hit or miss as well, though my flights yesterday actually populated them accurately which was a pleasant surprise.
This may also be an API issue that simply needs to be addressed and not necessarily the providers fault. I’m sure Asobo are aware and perhaps we could see this updated on the 27th.
Dude, this is TAF - terminal area/aerodrome FORECAST, not current observations But still got your point, I also observed inaccurate weather, especially winds aloft data for upper levels, totally messed up compared to active sky…
When MS contracted with Jeppesen for FS9 and FSX this wasn’t an issue. Sometimes you would have jarring wind changes if on an overseas flight with large distances between reporting stations, but at least the winds aloft were functional. Who is Meteoblue? Maybe Jeppesen wanted too much money, Idk. But right now this meteoblue thing aint workin (unless you are flying in the EU).
Yup, still have the broken 225/03 wind everywhere. It’s very concerning that they aren’t even acknowledging this as an issue. It’s starting to make me think that this is just how it will be (which is not acceptable)
