I have had a couple of instances where a livery that I downloaded from a VERY coomon site, and installed in the community folder, will not show up. For instance, I installed a livery for the Xcub. Inside the folder is the required .json files. plus SimObjects/Airplanes folder, in which there are folders for wheeled, floats, tundra, etc… all the Xcub variations. However, the new livery only appears in the standard wheeled version. In the floats version, only the default Asobo livery appears.
Have you mentioned this to the livery creator? That’s where I usually start.
Yes- this morning. I may or may not get a reply… the comments on Flightsim.to make no mention of the issue I am having.
I ask because experience with third party liveries going wonky is often due to a change in a sim update. That usually means the creator made it in some manner that the update has overridden. Some creators are on top of things and update, others have long gone so there is no hope, but the mod is still there. Others are somewhere in between, still there, difficult to reach even if you DM them. You say this is a brand new livery? Then, it should work. The problems arise as a livery gets older, many updates behind.
Thanks for the reply. It makes sense. I don’t recall saying it’s a new livery. I don’t think it is. In any case we are lucky to have so many to choose from.
