Loading issues after update

Hi All
Having loading issues after the December update. Sim will only load as far as shown in screen shot with the community folder. If I remove the community folder it loads okay.
I have trimmed down my community by half to see the effect but, still won’t.
Is anyone else having this issue?

Yes I am getting the same issue. Did not try the Community folder yet, but mine isn’t huge by any stretch.

Same problem here - I haven’t tried to delete the community folder yet - but unfortunately there is nothing else left to do.

Then, one by one, go back into the community folder and test :frowning:

Same. After clearing the Community Folder it Loads. Just trying to find the culprit

Same here. Seems it is a common issue.

I emptied the community folder - and it starts again.

Now it’s time to find the rotten egg in the community folder … :frowning:

For me I could locate it. It was the Cessna 152 Mod. When I unload it it starts just fine

I can confirm that responsible for the problem are liveries, not airports. I am not sure of all liveries or just some. If you experience loading issues, remove liveries, and then check.

I will also check if the add-on aircraft performance tweaks, GPS add-ons, and map add-on are responsible. Stay tuned.

Step ONE for all updates is empty the Community folder. Once you have tested the sim and everything is running fine then you can start replacing the community folder contents, one at a time. It is almost a guarantee that something in there will not be compatible with the update. Follow this advice and your update experience will be much smoother.

Liveries were the problem on my end aswell

I had problems with a cessna 208 liberie, I removed it and the simulator loaded normally

A livery was the cause of my problem too.

The real question is why? I made this livery myself months ago, and it has never once been a problem. I don’t even know how to fix it, as I don’t know what causes this.

All my liveries were selected and the game loaded, but when I added all of my other add-ons it would hang as mentioned above. I’ll remove the C152 realism livery, load all my other files and report back.

So two hours later, after comparing my troublesome livery to one that loads correctly, I’m now at a complete loss. Every .cfg and layout.json entry is the same, all other files are the same too. Yet one loads correctly and the other freezes the sim. This same livery has worked correctly for over 2 months, prior to this update.

Why does this stuff continue to happen with every update? Ultimately, liveries are just different texture files, that’s it! Yet Asobo seem to over complicate simple things to the point where the entire system is so delicately balanced, it often just completely falls over and breaks.

Good work detectives. took out all my liveries and BADABOOM, the old girl fired up.
Now to commerce the reinstall of liveries to see which is the culprit in my case.
Before I do it’s time for a glass of a good Aussie red
