Don’t care where the problem is, don’t care what the problem is…
Unacceptable waiting an hour+ to launch a game. Completely unusuable, complete waiste of money, time, and effort. Pointless having a game that you can’t even start
It is the same here for myself…unacceptable load times for the “released” version. Asobo and MS went for the CASH GRAB here and screwed the end user(s). A full week in now and loading should not still be an issue for any end user!!! Seven days is plenty of time to have made the corrective action, well unless you intentionally released the program with such flaws and passed it off on to the purchaser…sure seems to be the case here.
At this point I am going to go for a refund and wait it out until the can get their mess cleared up.
Load times for me are usually 3-5 minutes, which isn’t like those of you experiencing 20-30 minute loads, but is still ridiculous. Most of that time is Activating Packages.
Hello,
Same problem for me, until I watched this video
1 check host file
2 check clock synchronization
3 cut internet while launching MsFs2024 (last solution if others don’t work)
My problem was simply the clock synchro
Not sure if this will help anyone else but I’ve struggling with unbelieveably long loading times and tried all the above fixes with no luck. Almost gave up and decided to fix a memleak issue thats been cropping up the last few months. Long story short I updated an outdated AMD Adrenalin driver that was causing the mem leak and i went from 45 min to 1 hour loads down to under 3 minutes. So if youre running an old AMD driver try updating.
I tried the latest update from 11 Dec, clock synchronisation, new installation, no add-ons, etc. but loading one airport in Austria e.g. LOWG still didn’t work after 20 minutes of waiting. Today I tried to load a flight and gave up after 10 min of waiting. I then enabled a VPN within Germany and the same airport that previously didn’t load, loaded within less than 2 minutes. The same when I tried some other airports. Maybe a coincidence, but you may want to try a VPN. I use a 500 MBIT stable glass fibre connection.
So I saw a trick in a video. Unplug the Ethernet cable, launch msfs, wait until the grey page shows up with “continuous connection required”, plug the Ethernet back in. It made the load time for the boot way faster. Not sure about the rest though. But 15s instead of 10 min is definitely a win.
I have only managed to play the game once since I bought it. I always get stuck at 68% every time I try to start the game. I can leave it for several hours and it never loads up more than 68%. Only once did I manage to get in and fly a plane and that took well over 2 hours. That was a couple of weeks ago. Someone on YouTube left a comment that this issue has been fixed since the last update and that it must be a problem with my computer. I have a fast Internet connection and have no problems playing any other game. Ive done a complete uninstall and reinstalled it. Tried using a vpn. Same thing every time. Totally and utterly fed up with it.
What i see constant is that the percentage is slowly increasing till round about 20% and that takes like 5 to 8 minutes at my place and then it is suddenly at 100% and load the main menu… i don’t even see the 20 to 100 it skips that completely
This seems still not fixed - I have the same issue, stuck at 68%. Sometimes if I do the trick with disabling the ethernet before starting the game and re-enabling it when warning screen pops up, it will load, but not always. So you’re not alone
Thanks for telling me that. I was beginning to think I was the only person who is unable to play the game. It’s strange how some have no problems whereas others have these problems. I tried again last night and let it run all night, it got stuck at 68% as usual. Ive never had a game that simply won’t start. This constant downloading from servers is not fit for purpose.
The thing is taht the when the game is stuck at 68% there is basically zero network traffic, it’s like your game is waiting for a response from the servers that is never served. What is weird is that during all this waiting my CPU is basically maxed out, running at 100%.
But as I said the game sometimes loads fine when I disable network connection before running the game and re-eanble it after the game shows the warning on the grey screen. Interestingly the XBox version loads fine for me, but it often crashes to dashboard after prolonged time, while the PC version when it does loads is super stable for me.
So only the loading part for PC version is causing me trouble.
I like 2024 a lot but there’s something that bothers me. The idea of moving “stuff” to “The Cloud” - wasn’t that supposed to reduce loading times? I understand that there’s a lot MORE code and data to load, but really folks.
Loading consistently takes over 6 minutes to arrive at the “Start” screen. How much load time should be required for the minimal amount of code before we even start user input?
For me, 2024 is more realistic and much smoother. Still got some bugs, though, and I haven’t decided if the lockups are caused by MSFS, GFX drivers, Windows11 or an addon.
Anyways, if this is all I have to gripe about today, it’ll be a great week.
